Remake is 100% better and way more scarier. One of the most terrifying games ever.

I'm so glad I played the first one when it came out, because it hits different to play it again, having been there years ago, the new game feels like a revisit for me, and I'm so so pleased with the results, the nostalgia is there, but new feelings arise and makes my skin crawl all over again... is like finding a long lost love after years of disconnect, it feels the same but different, I'm in awe. Love the first one because it showed me what true psy horror should look like in a game, love the remake for bringing me this wave of new sensations in a familiar setting.

The question of which is better never really made sense to me. The OG is my favorite game ever, but I absolutely adore the remake. Even though they're pretty much the "same game", I can never put them against eachother and call one better than the other.

I think the point of Angela was missed, as someone who has a close friend who went through similar but not exact experience Angela went through and seeing as to how she dealt with the trauma and guilt truly broke my heart as her friend. The original still hit a strong note for us both but the remake felt more real, more true to how a victim of such a circumstance would act.

Designs the original how they do the camera thing in the original better . Remake the controls way Fcking better the voice acting way freaking better . The models way better . The remake I like the expansion where ya can go in lots of places like open world almost similar to downpour lol. Resident evil 2 remake vs original Remake wins . Re4 remake vs original . The original wins the remake is amazing played it 40 times but something about that original Resident evil 4 that can’t be beat. Re one remake surpasses the original without question. 1. You can change the tank controls to standard.
2. Camera angles are not entirely fixed, the top left trigger will always pull the camera to over-the-shoulder regardless of where it is.

What a cracking review, and probably the best I've seen so far. Did not expect that much thought, consideration and downright quality. Subbed and this channel deserves to grow way bigger of this standard is anything to go by.

Yeah it best just to keep it that same with just update the graphics and other things but just add more too it like RE 1 remake.

I like the way you did not dig the new Angela. Personally i had no issue with her. However, i hated new maria to the same degree as you felt about Angela. Great video.

Good video. Remake Angela was fine. I never bought into the OG dialog intentionally odd. It took me out of it. I prefer the remake, if only for the updated controls.

i definitely think you are completely totally wrong about angela. but the rest of the review i mostly agreed with you or at least understood where you were coming from. but oh my god i thought angela was the most improved of all the characters. she seems so much more real now. i thought the actress did amazing and i was almost in tears for some of her scenes.

I liked how the Silent Hill 2 “remake” low key revealed that it’s not a remake. It confirmed that James is in a loop and has been for at least 20 years.

I am so happy that OG Angela’s voice actor has shooters, because when I originally played SH2 back in 2002 when i was in high school, I could not stand her. OG Angela is far more amateurish than remake Angela, imo. Remake Angela isn’t perfect, but she is never unintentionally funny with her line delivery.

Im going to say only one thing, I have played a lot horror games including OG SH2, but Silent Hill 2 Remake is till date the only horror game that got me scared and in panic mode! It's the first horror game that truly made my hands shake and sweat intensively. Make what you want of this. This is in huge part because of the graphics and sound design. I think the horror genre is the one that benefits the most of graphic improvements with all these OLED screens and high framerates.
