Good vid.i have since shortened my back swing and it has made a big difference in my accuracy
ОтветитьI've been throwing darts a while now but this year is the first year I've been taking it seriously and I'm doing okay. But one problem I have always had since I started throwing darts is every now and then I throw a dart up over the 20 outside the board. To this day I don't know why or how it happens, I don't feel like I'm gripping the dart any different or putting any more power into it but yet the odd dart flys up over the 20. Have you ever heard of this happening to anyone else or have you experienced it yourself? Thanks 👍
ОтветитьAnswer: PRACTICE!
ОтветитьThank you for your Videos i am only a fun player at home but your advice has help me alot keep up the great work on your darts advice videos thank you from johnny ireland🎯 👍☘️
ОтветитьGrateful indeed! Lots of appreciations for your explanations
ОтветитьGenius tips! Thank you:)
ОтветитьChrist i have been playing for over 40 years and im so inconsistent it's unbelievable im the type of player who can hit a 180 ( not to many these days ) and then a 26 the next throw i have tried everything but im old school and the only thing that really helps me is 4 pints and 6 vodkas but i would not recommend that for all,but it works for me,so if you want to try it be my guest.
ОтветитьYour video has made it to Rothera Research Station, Antarctica. 25 of us out here for 18 months on a long stint trying to sharpen up our dart skills in our downtime. Thank you very much for your fantastic efforts and honesty in the video. I personally have learnt alot from this one alone. Cant wait to put it into practice tomorrow ;)
ОтветитьI just recently changed my throw from a very short backswing/stroke (like Devon Peterson) to pulling it closer to my face to get some more power and acceleration in my throw. Any advice how to make this feel natural, at the moment my throw actually feels weaker than before?
Also love following your darts journey. 🎯
thank you so much!i am a newbie! it helps me so much! ❤
ОтветитьGood info on flight and straightness. I see mine all over the place many times so get to follow your tips. How many hours a day for practice is normal?
ОтветитьSo i have the problem were my point is all the way in the board and having struggles with aiming any tips+ i use a 23g barrel with short cuesoul flights
ОтветитьI've pinned a peace of white cotton down the middle of the board through the 20 bull and 3 try to hit the cotton
ОтветитьThis is my problem! This is why I couldn't score three triple-twenties every go.
ОтветитьSubbed - bunch of good content for what I’m trying to do which is honing my throw. I find that there are certain videos tutorials like this one that can be helpful to review periodically because you’ll pick something up you completely forgot about the first time, 2nd time even 3rd. Question… I’ve video taped myself in 1-2 segments just doing the ABC drill (aim, draw back, release and follow thru routine essentially if you’re unfamiliar, idk) and I noticed that my fingers aren’t always snapping straight down upon release, but one or two might be kinda to the right side. My grip isn’t always the same but usually close, form looks solid besides the flick sometimes I guess. Any quick advice? Sorry if that explanation sucked
ОтветитьI started playing darts in 1977 and the amount of players who used to cock their little finger up like Eric Bristow was laughable. I tried it a few times and could hardly hit the board. Everyone develops their own throw and technique over time.
I used to throw quite fast and due to the occasional miscount I decided to slow down and take my time a bit more.
The only major change for me is the weight of darts I now prefer. Back in the 80s when I was playing for my local pub team, I threw 25g. Nowadays, I throw 32g.
The answer is called PRACTICE!!! It's as simple as that. Practice, practice, practice. There's no secret formula, stance, grip or equipment....figure all that out first again by practicing. Then, just practice more lol. You'll be amazed at your improvement 😉
ОтветитьBeen playing on and off for 12 months now. seen plenty of " how to do" videos and this is the first I have seen of yours but I like your style. Great explanations and advice. I always struggle with keeping the dart straight on the back swing, I'll be fine then next minute I am jerking it off to the side of my head, lol. Cheers
ОтветитьHow did you decide on what shape of barrel to use please?
ОтветитьHow do you get them to land so upright mate
ОтветитьGreat info,big help thanks
ОтветитьSo, what would you suggest for much taller players? If I walk into a dart board my nose is just under trip 20. I feel like this would send all my darts above the board?
ОтветитьGood video. I'm left-handed and I noticed when I release the dart the dart takes off sideways to where the point would be going left. But then it straightens out and goes into the board fairly straight. I don't think it has anything to do with my aim I think it's something to do in my release maybe to wear I'm keeping a thumb on the dart a little too long maybe
ОтветитьThanks for posting your videos. For a novice you make it real.
BTW, nice darts. What brand and weight are they?
Nice one mate! Are you in a competition of some sorts sometimes? (+ how many years have you been playing?)
ОтветитьHe man thanks for making these excellent dart videos there the best and have helped me throw my first 180 from official distance after only one month of practice and i managed to average 50 yesterday thanks so much and good luck with everything
ОтветитьI never comment on videos but this is a belter!
ОтветитьBut how do you achieve to let the dart face upwards in the flight to the bord.
That it drops at the end.
I am not succeeding at that
Do you coach 1 to 1?
ОтветитьPlease adjust your board so that it's solid lol.
ОтветитьHi there, do you have any advice please for someone whose darts come in flat and wants them to stand up more?
ОтветитьGonna try these, I'm only playing 3 months.. Mostly I'm hitting 40-45 average... But I have pushed 47,51....thats with 8% on the doubles... I can score big at times, but consistency is all over the place.... Great info on the depth of the dart I'm throwing 24g and burying them fully, gonna purchase lighter darts and try that..
ОтветитьI block treble twenty alot
ОтветитьThanks man! I think I learned something from this! been playing for about 4 yrs now and averaging around 65 but not improving much! Gonna definitely focus on the shape of my dart flight. Thanks
ОтветитьGood viv
ОтветитьHi again. Did u say and mean you aim below the t20 and push it up.
Ответитьthanks ,helps alote
ОтветитьThis helped me so much! When I throw instinctive I am right on or above target, when I aim I'm all over the place... Idk why but it works
ОтветитьHi Ronnie great video....when you say aim below the treble then lift it up...how what do you mean by lift it up..and how do I do that....also my darts angle upwards not as steep as yours...so how do you get them to land so steep...many thanks and again great video
ОтветитьDefinitely learned something here. Thank you Sir.
ОтветитьIm quite new I just cant seem to throw the same place after hitting a good first dart
ОтветитьI don't know how you can keep throwing into a loose board like that, it would do my head in.
ОтветитьGreat Video; thanks for sharing your insights! You mentioned in another video, that you also sometimes experienced "plateauing" of your performance and how you overcame it. I have come to one of those plateaus right now, where there is no improvement of my game since weeks. playing between 60 and 65 and can´t evolve in hitting more trebles. It´s odd; when playing Around the Clock or JDC challenge I hit quite a lot, but when it comes to 501, it seems i am "overfocused" on the twenty. Anyway, Thanks again!
ОтветитьIt would drive me nuts if the board moved every time LOL
ОтветитьReally practical advice, and excellent explanations. We appreciate the effort you put into producing and sharing your content. Thanks
ОтветитьI am throwing 1's and 18's galore. I hope this video will help me. I'm averaging 25-35. I'v been throwing for 2 weeks atm.
ОтветитьI'm very impressed with this explanation
ОтветитьFantastic video Ronnie, excellent tips thank you
ОтветитьHi ..do you play on nakka? And so yes whats your dart name on nakka?. Grtz from belgium
ОтветитьBTW, has anybody said you look like my fav goalie, David de Gea
Ответить
