Nothing says "fresh thinking" like criticizing Gibson... in 2023. Gripping stuff.
ОтветитьYa ill take an Epiphone every time
ОтветитьWait a minute Wait a minute Wait a minute Wait a minute... all this with a $oldano sitting right there?
Ответитьweird, I have a factory purple metal flake Les paul, and a Blue burst Les paul? but this guy just told me they only come in cherry or tobacco burst? (I have a black one too...) I get that this supposed to be "funny" but it really just comes off as typical metal head snobbery and whining. Oh and right now only one of them has head a neck break (4 or more to be exact) but its seen some S to achieve that... (i.e. being used as a weapon, thrown at/through amps, drum kits, drummers, crowds, ridden like a skate board down stairs etc etc)
ОтветитьI mean. It’s true. You should try and buy American made products. What’s wrong with that? 🤷♂️
ОтветитьI just bought a Jr to go with my Standard. This video was so correct except that my friends think I’m dumb too.
Edit: my friends are my teddy bears.
Glenndale frickerson
ОтветитьI love this video but I still love my 2018 les Paul studio
ОтветитьI understand a lot of this is satire and im ok with that but you should do a little research. Gibson doesn't pay minimum wage. There are no minimum wage jobs at the Gibson factory. Even the person cleaning the bathrooms starting wage is $19.43 . Basic floor jobs in the factory where you actually touch the guitars pay 21 to 31 per hour. I know the prices are high but they don't do slave labor bud. They pay more than a lot of US companies
ОтветитьI NEED COLOR HUUURRR
ОтветитьSo far, I haven't found any guitar by any brand that makes me want to play more than my Korean Custom Shop Epiphone '61 Les Paul Custom that I paid $350 for. To me, that's the only reason to buy a guitar - because it makes you WANT to play it. It doesn't matter if it costs $100 or $100,000....well maybe a bit.
ОтветитьLove you humor… sorry your seriousness;-)
ОтветитьWith a Gibson guitar you can play smoke on the water with up to 60% more regret
ОтветитьI have a traditional lp that now lists for at least 4,000. I got mine for an exceptionally great price, nowhere even remotely close to it's present list. It's a great guitar. However. I have far cheaper guitars (by which i mean 200 dollarish guitars) that are just as good as the gibson. However, however. Gibson is now the harley Davidson of guitars. That's not a compliment.
I'm surprised you don't see guitar players wearing gibson hats, t shirts, pants and jackets whenever they play their gibson guitar. I mean, how's anyone watching supposed to be certain they are playing an actual gibson, unless they also see them wearing the gibson gear? Just like a harley. How am I supposed to be certain your motorcycle is a harley, unless I see the brand on your jacket.
One of my favourite arguments when people support the brand is:
-Gibson owns the LP shape!
My reply is: ok, the LP came out in 1952, it's been 71 years, out of those who actually created the LP, how many of them keep working at Gibson?
Massively funny, I still play a Gibson though 8^)
ОтветитьI want to see corporate Glenn in the intros 😂
ОтветитьDang, I feel like I should stop being a poser and sell my Gibson LP....
ОтветитьAs entertaining as these can be Gibson does seem to be living rent free in his head. It’s getting kind of boring
ОтветитьI just played all my Fender strats, Harley Benton, and Ibanez, then my Gibson. The Gibson is the best one.
Ответитьi want to buy a gibson now 😄
ОтветитьAdds used Epiphone Les Paul Custom with ebony neck to cart and saves 90%....😂
ОтветитьI went into a music store to get strings. Staff were fawning over this $12,000 Gibson that just came in (it had the fake wear and a pale yellow finish, kind of ugly honestly), when they were ringing me up he jokingly asked me if I wanted it, i said "maybe next paycheck haha, but seriously i probably wouldn't buy that for $8000." He immediately got bent out of shape and asked me why. I said well, in my opinion, Gibsons are largely overpriced, they have quality issues, even the american made ones, and i wouldn't be willing to spend that much on a gamble, and there are a ton of options out there that are equal to or objectively better than most Gibsons. I enjoy the timeless design of the les paul, but i can probably get a modern knockoff that has more features, more finishes, better quality, and $1000 less.
I hate going to music stores sometimes. The gatekeeping and judgement is so dumb. Like, take my money. Years ago I had a guy litterally making fun of me for wanting to buy a Music Man. I liked em. Wanted to buy one. He didnt get the sale. Someone else did though
Look, i just admire the burst tops they do on LPs. And the necks feel great.
ОтветитьIs this sarcasm? Asking for a friend.... the burps confused me a bit...
ОтветитьWhat funny is my LP Gibson actually stay in tune!
ОтветитьI have a small stack of guitars of different brands.
What do I play? What do my hands always reach out for? What always in tune?
That horrible Harley Benton I bought for 100$ used - just for fun "let's see what it is". I love it. I still haven't found out what model it is. And I really don't care.
First time I played it we made friends. That's my guitar.
Well everything you said is right, but: there are people who love playing guitar and buy a tool. A thing that just has to work. And there are people who love playing guitar and also love the instrument itself. They want to buy a piece of art or a piece of rock history or a certain feeling. And both is totally fine.
ОтветитьBuy a Gibson? Do I look like I’m made of money? They’re way out of touch with the consumer.
Ответитьhahahah WTF did Gibson do to you!? i have learned a lot from your rants! keep pissing off "the man"!.....
ОтветитьIll take my gibsons over most others
ОтветитьI have a few gibsons.. im not rich i just save and buy used. Honestly they've been my favorite since i was a kid. Gibson sounds and plays like nothing else.
ОтветитьI went into the music store to buy a Gibson, I walked out with a Heritage.
Ответитьyou look like norm petits dopleganger, (owen shroyers lawyer- alex jones)
ОтветитьYou convinced me to buy a Gibson, thanks!!!!
ОтветитьThis dude is funny.
Ответитьi do like the explorer shape. Don't have one tho. But i like the shape :D
ОтветитьI died when the pic of Dr. Sins came up
ОтветитьI thought that I was just unlucky to get a Gibson that refused to stay in tune... (A friend of mine bought a Gibson with robot tuners. That was a laugh.)
And the Gibson headstock angle (17 degrees?) is not healthy for ANY kind of wood under pressure, no matter how they say that it's the most perfect angle for a headstock. It obviously isn't.
You never disappoint Mr. Fricker.
ОтветитьF'ing A. I'm getting some right funny looks at the moment, LMAO in a cafe while my daughter does her gymnastics lesson
ОтветитьYou look good in a suit! ;-)
ОтветитьWell for fucks sake, it as if the Motor Company made guitars too!
ОтветитьNice! the fricken Fricker trashes gibson once again! I actually agree with you mostly. To say Gibson's are bad guitars is ridiculous though - Look at Fender - 2 grand for a shitty bolt on neck - I think that is insane - I could buy a kit for 200 bucks that would easily be just as good if assembled by a decent tech - yes gibsons are extremely overpriced - I completely agree with you, but they are fine playing instruments, I don't mind tuning my guitar - that's why I have a pedal tuner, it's dead simple - the Steinberger tuners never gave me a problem - just the stock gibson bullshit - Most "brand" name guitars are overpriced garbage, but gibsons play well and they sing - there is also a selection process - they don't just shlep together some random Chinese sourced wood - You are paying for premium aged tone woods - any classical luthier will tell you that it matters - they percussively test the tone of each piece of wood - and they have a master builder select the wood by ear - Gibsons are good guitars but I still refuse to pay for a new gibson, gibson can't compete with their own guitars - a used gibson is a great value
ОтветитьAll those outtakes were probably the result of all that Gibson bashing hahaha
ОтветитьI am not saying that you are full of shit and I agree with 98% of what you are saying. But I have some 70's Gibsons. No I didn't pay that much for them and it wasn't for show. I love playing them and they sound phenomenal. I have ZERO tuning issues and have had no headstock issues. No, I would not buy a new Gibson. I think that they do have a lot lacking and do rely too much on nostalgia. IMHO they should have a line that is all original spec but then have their newer lines that have improvements and modern features. I have to say, even though I am older, I love the weight of my Gibsons! I find it hard to play guitars that weigh nothing...lol. On the other hand I have and have had guitars like Squier, low end Ibanez, and other cheap guitars that were awesome and could keep up with my higher end. Hell, I had a GAX70 that sounded and played amazing!! The majority of it, considering that most guitars made in the past 20-30 years have been CnC made, is the "fit and finish". There are a lot of guitar (and bass) players out there that do not know their instrument nor know how take care of them. If you have that know-how you can make a $100 guitar play and sound like a $5000 guitar. Neck, string height, intonation, fret levelling and edge filing, etc. These are things that are very much worth learning.
ОтветитьSkip straight to 10.32, im dying! lol
ОтветитьGibsons differ from each other, one will be balanced, one will be heavy. All I know is I’m NOT a Gibson person, I would take Epiphone OVER Gibson these days.
ОтветитьI can’t believe you actually own a suit , or is it borrowed
Ответить
