With all the hubbub around AI in the last year, all its promises and perils, I thought I would spend a video talking about a major upside to artificial intelligence - the science mysteries it is likely to solve. So here are a handful of the biggest mysteries AI could help us find an answer to.

Things like this are actually real danger to democracy.

Antibiotics don't distinguish in between good bacteria or bad bacteria, kinda like chemotherapy doesn't distinguish in between good cells or cancerigenic cells, it attacks all cells. Antibiotic means anti life.

I just read an article on how scientists are looking at virus phages as a potentially potent tool in the fight against super bugs. Whenever mankind comes up against a problem we tend to find solutions. Whether everyone has access to, or we have the political will to implement is a different story sadly.

I am o.k. with automobiles being designed on computers I guess and the medical field would not exist without computers but stay away from art and music and do not run people out of jobs or it has to die! Oh, and computers narrating is super annoying as they rarely pronounce words correctly and it is very, very distracting!

I think its silly to think our current AI algorithms can decipher that ancient text. They learn via regression which means that they make predictions based on other known things. So it just doesn't make any sense that AI would be likely to do well here. And we wouldn't be able to verify if it succeeded anyway. So its a waste of time.

There are 8 cognitive functions: 4 basic types with one being introverted and the other extraverted.

Thinking (reason) knowing lots of stuff and analysis.

Feeling (values) consensus v conscience

Sensory: memory and awareness

Intuition: plan for self, collective options

ChatGPT is intuitive options

Expert systems AI is Reason.

Big data is external thinking

Sensing is robotics and sensors and memory storage

Programming values gets to the question of whose values. That would be artificial wisdom . Yes-No decisions and choice theory systems are the closest thing. For sentience, AI would need this - the ability for a system to, in its own, say no without a programmed heuristic

For ChatGPT to be useful, it needs a reason and sensing tool to check its work.

Maybe whatever combines these three is the values routine. Self-discipline. Saying no to itself. Thinking about how it thinks.

That may qualify as sentience. A well developed internal values matrix that can referee the other 7 and consider its own stake and honor.
