Oh God. He just led me to this song regards a guy I am just getting to know, but petrified to know. I’ve been trafficked, otherwise raped, stalked, abandoned and generally told by the world I’m worthless for pretty much forever. Therapy only goes so far, and I haven’t dated in like 10 years because the feeling of being a user…while knowing I need to have some other decent, healthy, not-perfect but quality person TO use to “practice” on, in understanding by experience what “a good relationship” is.

This song just helped allllllll my head knowledge ground the plane of “Oh. So THAT is what intimacy is. THAT is what a good guy ought be telling me.” And then…😭😭😭😭. Of joy and sadness and reverence and hope, that I could ever find something so beautiful tho nothing is ever “always perfect”. What perfection.

I am confounded by how I did not see absolutely how charismatic Billy Joel is. Real time, my friends were listening to another genre. Just goes to show the power of suggestion. Never turned him off the radio, but never bought his records. I can't imagine how many other good things I missed because I lived in the bubble of my youth.
