I've been married for 30 years going on 31 and we never been any happier and we are interracial marriage

Well to be fair humans were never meant to be with other ethnicities all types of people evolved differently like how Asian people tend to be smarter and how African people tend to be more athletic those traits comes from evolution. So in reality interracial couples shouldn’t be a thing and if ur ancestors knew what you were doing you would have gotten disowned and if you really think it’s natural for people to get with other races then is it okay for a Great Dane to be breed with a chihuahua?

When I was in 1st grade I dated a black girl named Nicole. We were really close and I met her siblings even. I told my parents and I kid you not my dad started laughing saying "Your dating a N word !". On the first day of 2nd grade we broke up sadly.

My husband and I have been married since 1999 and the four years after Obama was president were the absolute worse. We have three teenagers who are multi race, but I’m sure that most families with children have found the toxicity that has followed difficult. The hatred that has been spoken openly at all levels of government, attacks on civil rights and civil liberties of all peoples. The backlash has been real and so long as society has these issues families and children will be affected.

Why are two people getting married a problem, my head cannot compute this.

Indiana has been downright hostile to my marriage to my wife (white). For asking for more documentation than necessary to other situations where legal hurdles have been present interfering with dates on our calendar, it's still present.

I was married to a white guy from 1988.I am a Widow for 17yrs. I never realized that I was the only person in my Church, work, School that was in a mixed marriage. We experience many hardships because of it but our love for each other was seen in everything we did. We lived a better happier life than every friend, Neighbour, family member and co-worker who hated on us. Years as a Widow I still experience the hate. I have no regrets. I lived and still living my best life. I am writing my story and I am telling my Story.

I lived both in the UK and the US and the difference is striking. The mere fact that you have a TV report on it should tell you, that, no, you haven't come a long way, progress has been slow, sluggish even, and it is still an issue. I don't know of any other country more prone to self-fellation than the US and they still haven't sorted out these things.

I doubted it was only 10% opposed mixed race marriage, especially if one was black. It would be more than 30%. Of course, same sex marriage opposition would be much higher, may be 80%.

I wish that that therapist was willing to see how even the white partner might experience facing more challenges with acceptance in their partner’s family and culture. I’ve had people of my partner’s ethnic group be openly very hateful toward white people in front of me and my son and I’m not trying to make it a pity party or make a comparison but frankly, facing and experiencing racism at all hurts and to not have that hurt spoken about or recognized feeds into resentment. That’s a fact no matter what you look like or where you come from. Having people close to my partner speak in a language I haven’t learned yet in order to make disparaging comments about me in my presence or share secrets, it’s very alienating and demoralizing. The gift is that it has clarified for me how so many POC feel when they experience similar circumstances and in mentioning how it feels for me, I have to acknowledge how profoundly worse it is for POC of course and it’s unfair to compare circumstances such as my own that are in a vacuum versus large-scale racism that POC are forced to go through everywhere constantly. I still hurt though in these situations, so what is the right way to think and talk about it and how do I find a way forward?
