Halo isn’t available anymore. Renphro✅.
ОтветитьBrooo these kind of scales only can mesure correctly the body fat related with your lower part of your body (legs), if you want a general body fat with these kind of scales you need to buy scales that check the lower part of your body and the upper part (this ones have a cable and "sensors to check your hands" to close the loop of your upper body).
Pleaaaaaseee do another video with expensive and cheap scales, that can mesure upper and lower body to be able to compare it better to the "gold standard DEXA" and the Aura :P
Thank youu!
Looking for multi-user friendly.. i.e., If two people will be using the scale, how easy is it for the scale to save the data to the appropriate profile/user?
Does the scale or app need to connect to the internet, or is everything done on your local network / app? For example, is the data stored on the phone, or is there some cloud service involved where if the company goes out of business the scale or app won't work?
In terms of data, just something looking to chart weight, body-fat and bone-density over time. But which is the most accurate in the < $50 scales.. RenPho, Etekcity, Withings , Wyze Smart Scale S, Yunmai, ABLEGRID , eufy Smart Scale P2 Pro, Lepulse. Would love to see all these companies send you a scale, and you compare it against your test at Dexafit in Orange County!
For me, bioelectric impedence is way more accurate than Dexa. Dexa 35%. Bodpod: 19%. Calipers 20%. Tape measure: 21%. Hydrostatic: 18% Biolectric impedance: 18.8% Two things: Dexa machines are based on flawed, buggy software (they do quite a bit of interpretation with the limited raw data they collect). Second, they have to be calibrated to be accurate. If the Dexa isn't in a bonfide medical facility, the owners really won't bother with maintenance to make sure it's accurate. That's because medical facilities can get sued for malpractice, were little "fitness clinics" and University athletics departments can't.
ОтветитьSo, which scale is consistently inaccurate, as in, is almost always off by Y?
Because if a scale is off by four pounds and, say, four percent in body fat/water/etc., and I can watch trends (as you point out), I’m happy with that.
I bought myself an OG Fitbit Aria for 30 bucks in the aftermarket. I found out the hard way that the 'expensive' scale had its another downsides. Yes, I got the scale cheap as it was used and old, but it was expensive when it was first released. In theory, the scale can work as well as it did on day 1, but in February this year, as I discovered on Reddit, they turned off the sync function via web and the app. So, for those considering buying an expensive one, don't forget that after 3-5 years, they may stop supporting the scale you purchased in hope they can melk you again. I will sell my smartwatch from fittbit after this bullshit and search for a cheaper solution (if you have any sugsestion that can simlar thinks like the charge 5, i would be happy). I also will switch the app. "Premium" functions... How greedy you can be...
ОтветитьThe real Indian Chris Bumstead😂.
Ответитьdo they upload data automatically?
Ответить- I was actually shocked
- no you fucking werent
These scales are rubbish. Ive been weightlifting and dieting for 3 months. Lost 2kg this month alone yet my scales are telling me I've increased in body fat by 2% Ive never looked so gopd yet my scales are telling me to loose more fat
ОтветитьSo I went into a deep dive (I’m biomedical engineer/physician) I was looking at the variance of the measurements so it turns out it the scales will be off by 10+/- %. With the body scales with their companion app they tend to adjust with time and the variance drops to 5% but it’s pretty much the same algorithm across-the-board for all BIA scales and devices. The tuning comes with the the apps but you have apps like macroFactor that can take in the data and make the adjustments. DEXA even thou it’s not as “precise” it’s variance, is less then 5%. So essentially, if you were to take multiple DEXA scans a week average out the months you’d be within 3% variance. Therefore making the body fat % more accurate. Your other video with the auro strap actually shows a good job of showing the margin of error advertently. So I’d say understanding that BIA algorithms are all the same industry standard id tell you guys buy the cheapest scale you can afford. As for being obese and a fat percentage, above 28 the variance is like 15 up to 25% off. So for those patients I’d suggested going off of weight lost and waiting till at least they get under a BMI of 25 before using a % of fat as any level of measurement of progress.
Ответить"after I released some of the body weight from my body" 💩
ОтветитьThanks 🙏🏾 was about to buy the Withings 🤣
ОтветитьI ran the same experiment myself and promptly returned the expensive scales.
Very disappointing price doesn't correlate at all with performance in this case.
total waste of valuable time to spend a lot of time with these scales. tooo many variables. Time is soooo important. This is actually ridiculous to do these scales when nothing is really accurate. Obsessive behavour. thanku the info
Ответитьbro i bought one for 500€ and it works perfectly, very accurate
ОтветитьRenpho user here. Did an experiment by having multiple profile of different height / gender combinations and weight with them, and within 5min my body fat ratio fly from 15% to 25%. Just for fun I weighted myself with the same profile, and then weighted again holding a jug of water, and my body fat flew from 25% to 26%.
Conclusion: the body fat % is just a guess based on your height, body weight and gender, it have nothing to do with a measurement, and the metallic electrode thing is likely just a decoration. It's accurate when...surprisingly, your build is similar to what the app assumed.
Just FYI body fat cannot be measured by scales, even those expensive ones with handles ann stuff. My stepdad is a professional football player and their dumb trainer bought this expensive scale to test their body fat instead of doing BF tests and they figured out its trash. They had this trick where you just spray the bottom of your feet with hot water and it would show much better results.
ОтветитьYou can buy a scale that sends a current from your feet to your hands, that's more accurate. I've got an OMRON with a hand piece and it's pretty accurate.
ОтветитьThanks!! ❤
ОтветитьI got the cheaper one. 🎉🎉🎉 Thanks for saving me some money.
ОтветитьWow excellent helpful video! Totally subscribing
ОтветитьHad to chuckle in the beginning, when he said this is a Nokia scale, now Withings LOL .. cuz it WAS Withings.. Nokia Bought them out for like 7 million? than Withins bought it back about 2 years later for 5 million ( could be off on the millions. but remember they bought it back for 2 million less than they sold it to them for ) ...
ОтветитьFor comparison purposes I'd want to know how much an autopsy costs.
Ответитьrenpho is really good it has been working for me for the last 3 years, I compared it with Gym scales, weight is pretty accurate, surprisingly the body fat also very close, eg 22.1 from gym and 19.9 from Renpho! Wow I am still impressed after 3 years, drawback is it connects to limited apps...
ОтветитьI still have an Ironman Bodyscale from 25 years ago. The main function of working as a weight scale remains Impeccable and accurate. I can always rely on seeing perfect difference even after going to the bathroom or soaking in a hot bath.
The normal vs athletic modes for bodyfat confuse me, but I take the average of the 2 and it varies a lot depending on hydration etc.
You can use it to check trending lowest bf if you are dieting but I'd point people towards the Navy method and calipers for more reliable bodyfat changes.
Ace video, all information and no waffle. Thank you and greetings from Scotland.
ОтветитьSo basically don't waste money on either one.
ОтветитьSo which one is most accurate that you used
ОтветитьI see the value of a trend up or down, but that margin of error is hilariously awful. Wow. Does the actual basic scale functionality work accurately, or is that whacked too?
ОтветитьThis video was so instructive. Thanks 👍🏻
ОтветитьI have a pretty cheap scale that tells you your weight and percentage of fat, water, muscle and bones plus the biological age of your body and your kcal needs. Must be very accurate xD
It only fluctuates in a small range and most of the data is in the range where I would expect it to be. But it always tells me a body fat around 17.5-17.9% and comparing to many pictures online I might rather be around 12-15%.
Dayem that was helpful !!😊
Ответитьhaha! i am scale producer, we supply scales for many brand for many years, actually there is different software for body fat from different factory with different app. that's the reason for different body fat percentage from different brand.
ОтветитьAfter watching I decided not to even bother buying one of these scales.
Ответить@Shervin.hey bro you seem like busy man so try things 3 and for your daily habits try streak workout
Ответитьwhat kind of argument is a axe soap bottle placed upon ; right
ОтветитьAny plans to review the Withings Body Comp?
Ответитьrenpho is a good brand. I could never buy one for 20.
ОтветитьI stood on my scale for about 2 hours every day and my weight didn’t change very much. I’m probably better off going to the gym
ОтветитьMeasuring trends is more important than the accuracy of each data point. Very well said
ОтветитьAnd here I was searching for the most accurate fat measure. You are right! They are not accurate. What we need is a consistent reading to find the TREND
ОтветитьPlease review the BodyPedia, would be interesting to see how good it is.
ОтветитьThe handgrip measurement scales should be significantly better since 4 instead of 2 points are used to make measurements. The more measurement points, the more accurate the measurement AND new parameters can be obtained. I would suspect the handgrips would deal with "upper" vs "lower" body types.
