DJI MAVIC PRO Review - [Flight Test In-Depth / Pros & Cons]

Hi everyone. I would like to comment that I was not using the DJIGO 4 app in this Review. This was done with the original app. An oversight on my part and I will be revisiting the Mavic with the djiGo 4 app to see the difference in performance. Aloha.

I still fly my Mavic pro in 2023 after 6 years it’s still flying on same batteries even after not charging during lockdown period for 2yrs it still works perfectly, it’s the work horse of Dji

Lunching from a landing pad would be good. This is the first video of the DJI Mavic Pro crashing the phone. So this is a common issue with this?

I had my mavic Pro up yesterday and did the precision landing a few times and every time it landed within 2in of where it took off from

You have to go to 30 feet straight up before precision landing will work,

What advantage does the Pro have over the Mavic Mini (1) ? If any? Other than the 4k video vs. 2.7k video which isn't a big deal for me... Just curious because I don't see a need to buy an expensive Drone when my mini seems to do like 90% of what I see the Pro does.
I'm looking for any type of advantage or disadvantage or big differences etc..

And the biggest CON is DJI , Hi Dustin ,imagine they sold thousands of these Mavics if not millions and then after about three years or so they are not supplying you with batteries any more ? Yes ,they are the BIGGEST CONS of their own products , that makes me very sceptic to purchase another Drone from them .

Since this review Dustin has the app been improved due to the crash issues that you have observed ? Also do you know if DJI and Fimi continue to do firmware updates long after the purchase of the drones or discontinue after new models are introduced? Thanks for another great review

DJI have really got to work on a new design for their controllers they are too small

Pause on controller is actually emergency stop button, I know I thought it was a pause too it's not, it instantly makes the drone stop and hover.

Happy to confirm in 2020 firmware updates and the app on later androids like 10+ (knocks on wood) behaves fine for me. I recently got my pro platinum and I'm still quite skitish when it comes to being near obsticals or low altitude flights a few jitters or panics for no reason but I think it's normal for new flyers. Though I've been getting more into taking shots I wouldn't try first day like trusting it won't fall out of sky just because I can barley see it when I send it over 100m away.

I got springy landing legs tho, and two extra batteries and those decent ND filters.

Taking more risks tho like I said I get skitish around objects I am just eyeballing

I've realized this video is 3 years old. But I've just gotten my first drone 4DRC F3 Nocchi and I've just turned off the optimization power mode so the app wouldn't be limited to battery use. That way you can avoid app crashes. 💪I'm going to upgrade to a Mavic once I get better at flying.
