as a mch main from heavensward where I come back each expansion asking where mch damage is, im finally pretty happy with where we are tbh, the lvl 90 additions feel pretty comfy.

Machinist was one of the first jobs was looking forward to playing and leveling when I first started XIV. Years later, it is still one of my mains, and I find it to be my favorite of the ranged DPS. To me, it feels a bit easier than bard, and a bit more satisfying than dancer. Having said that, all 3 ranged jobs are great, and I am hoping we will eventually get a fourth one in some way or another.

But yes, big agree on the philosophy of "play what makes you happy." Don't worry about any kind of metas or ideal party compositions. As long as you have fun with your job and play it well to some extent, that is all that matters.

Big valid. I've always been a Black Mage main and never really understood the people who said that leveling with it is hell, because I simply enjoy the class that much. Love the fantasy, the visuals, the Astral/Umbral mechanic, even the challenge presented by the hard-casting. We like what we like, the meta doesn't matter.

I can understand that. I used MCH for Dragonsong Ultimate and not only I provided good utility I was top DPS like hell. It definitely takes some time to learn it properly, but once you do, damn!

Only thing that stopped me from making the switch was finger fatigue 😂

MCH has been such a rollercoaster of a job, where it seems like people go from loving it to absolutely shitting on it on practically a patch by patch basis. It's one of the last jobs I got up to 80 during ShB, but it's been my biggest surprise in the game and also my main since 6.2.

Yeah it's far from perfect and there are more meta jobs out there that I'm pretty good with, but it's so damn satisfying and definitely usurped RDM as my 'comfy class'

MCH is now my main... on PVP, i like how i can annoy enemy party and able to solo enemy without sweat

SAM isn't a hard job to play, providing you know the fight and can anticipate all your movements within your primary cooldowns. Just like BLM. I tend to say MCH and SMN do allow for a bit more wiggle for error.

mch is just better anyway ngl

I wanted MCH to be my first job when I started to play FF14 but had to do play BLM to get to MCH. I didn't care what people said about any shortcomings for MCH, I love how unique MCH is and how it plays. Love your videos and guides.

Good for you switching your main, people get locked into one, hell I've rolled the tanking class for a decade, and I think it is time to switch to DPS, since I've only played tank I guess for a learning of the fights, new & old raids, it would be easier for me to melee, anyone have a suggestion for me on the job to pick? What is the "most fun & not TO easy" melee?

I've never clicked a video so quick coz' this was literally me a patch ago lol 😅. I was a SMN main and switched to a MCH lol. I'm also a casual NIN player. Just wished they changed TCJ to where you can move ... One person can only hope 🤞 lol
