Similarities between Undertale and EarthBound (MOTHER) Series

Undertale is a literal COPY of earthbound

Mother 1: genocide route
Mother 2: neutral route
Mother 3: pacifist route

Another thing they share: both of them don't need creepypasta as they're creepypasta themselves at some part of the story

“Creepy final boss” Giygas is the form of a child who wants his mother and his entire existence and appearance is messed up in every way

What about the Hotland walls? The trippy background? Sense of humour?

It's crazy how a game that was basically American earthbound became such a touchstone of internet culture

In both games, at the end of the day, the villain is really just a sad confused child who wants to return to his family.

Earthbound also has similarity with Sonic.exe Disstracks too

I looked this up after finally going through a full playthrough of Earthbound after obsessing over Undertale for years and its insane just how much Toby ripped straight from Earthbound

As toby said, if you played mother you can see how unoriginal he is

They're also both Nintendo games. Undertale isn't just for Nintendo, though.

Though I am trying out Earthbound still, I think I might prefer Undertale/Dwltarune better simply because I find traditional turn-based battles to be kinda boring. I do have A.D.D./ADHD, so I guess I have an excuse, but even without it, I'd prefer having something to do during battles than just reading text and picking options.

To be honest I think the earthbound is just a bit better than Undertale

here are some others:
most if not all undertale songs have some sampling from earthbound
megalovania is similar to the music played just before fighting giygas (i think his name is porky?)
the ambience/music played in alphys' lab also has some similarities with the room ambience played just before righting giygas, again
the tiles in the room ALSO JUST BEFORE FIGHTING GIYGAS look somewhat like a recoloured version of the barriers in the CORE from undertale

I also noticed similarities between mother and deltarune:
hip shop sounds similar to as you wish from mother 3
also the way rouxls appears is similar to starman jr. from earthbound

I hope someone makes a Deltarune one of these eventually, I’ve noticed some references in the first 2 chapters

If you can't decide which is better, why not just pick both? Both soundtracks are good, the story is good, and their last boss is messed up and straight up awesome!

Chara's screaming/laughing face looks kinda like Giygas

actually only a small portion of the dialogue is different at the end of Earthbound, like with Frank working at the burger place at the end

I think the detail of changing the dialogue after the game "ends" adds so much depth and thought to the universe. It makes you feel these people are actually real, compared to rpgs where the dialogue is unchanging.
