It feels like 2018 was the year that the number of Ultra-Widescreen supported games suddenly jumped.

But sadly we are almost 7 months into 2022 and we're still getting big release games where the PC version has no native Ultra-Widescreen support.

Games like Elden Ring and The Quarry, especially in the case of The Quarry since it's got this terrible letterbox aspect ratio that isn't fixed by using an Ultra-Widescreen monitor.

Although strangely enough the devs previous games: the Dark Pictures Anthology (Man Of Medan, Little Hope and House Of Ashes) as of 2022, did have their letterboxing fixed by using an Ultra-Widescreen monitor.

Same devs, different publishers and different levels of quality of the PC versions of the their games.

I love how 16:9 is just 4:3*4:3

Because human have 2 eyes side by side, we see wider in horizontal, so it's very reasonable that TV screen is wider than height. But i still consider that 21/9 is even too wide. When takin on account the shape of human sight i guess the best aspect ratio would be 2/1...? But i personally think that 16/9 is more pleasant to watch than 21/9...

16:9 master race. First, t’s the most popular. It also makes viewing other aspect ratios much more bearable. Watching 21:9 on a 4:3 display is awful. The letterboxes are huge and waste so much space. The same goes for 4:3 content on a 21:9 display. 16:9 will almost always give you the screen real estate when dealing with other aspect ratios because it’s right in the middle of the range of aspect ratios. You people with 32:9 displays though: wtf. Just get two screens. Mad lads

I get why calling aspects ratio 4:3 and 16:9 because it doesn’t divide good anymore. But 21:9 can be divided by 3 and can be called 7:3...

1930 they tried to establish Fox Grandeur - but Cinemas were challenged enough with converting to sound.
Fun fact, in the 1950s they used Fox Grandeur equipment for Todd A0 and 20th Century Fox used the old name for their version of Todd A0
