It was the fiendfyre that destroyed the diadem in the book, but since they didn’t have enough time to properly explain the spell, it’s destroyed with a Basilisk fang in the movie. Also, after being scorched, the diadem spews out a black, blood-like liquid, vibrates and breaks apart, none of which happen in the movie

This video ended with a perfectly cut scream and I love it.

I know many of the Room's previous users and item owners may be dead, but for the living, that room was a godsend. I'm not sure if that flame will ever be extinguished, but the items there have surely been lost forever.

There was a reason that even when it would have given them a surefire way to destroy the horcruxes, Hermione REALLY wanted to avoid resorting to Fiendfyre. It was the only spell that could destroy a horcrux on contact, but it was so uncontrollable that all the much more difficult methods like basilisk venom were still the better option.

Also, if even HERMIONE is saying “I don’t think I can master or control this spell” you know it’s some nasty stuff.
