Spielberg omitted Schindler's actions as the war was ending. He made a deal with a corrupt army officer to obtain guns and ammunition so his workers could defend themselves from fanatic SS determined to "finish the job."

I have always thought that there will be another Holocaust. I just prayed it wasn’t in my life time. But this is certain: Muslims in Israel are treated as citizens and serve both in the IDF and Knesset. Jews within Gaza, the West Bank or any other Muslim nation, are treated as hunted animals with no civil rights.

Oskar Schindler died October 1974, he was 66 years old. He is buried at Mount Zion Catholic Cemetery in Jerusalem, Israel. After the war he was financial supported by Schindlerjuden ("Schindler Jews") -- the people whose lives he had saved during the war.

As of this day he is the only former Nazi buried in Israel. He and his wife Emilie were named Righteous Among the Nations by the Israeli government in 1993.

As of 2023 there is over 9,000 descendants of the original 1200 Schindler Jews.

Oskar might have spared the guards a brutal retaliation of the red army if they killed the workers. If they get arrested they can say that they never harmed one single worker. If they left a pile of corpses, the Russians would have wanted revenge and hunted them down. So the guards were also saved accidentally by Schindler.

The fact that Spielberg included the Mourners Kaddish at the end of this scene and spoken by the rabbi is my favorite part.

A masterpiece EXCEPT for this speech. Did Spielberg really think he could sum up the Holocaust in a few words from Mr. Schindler? And if I were one of these slave laborers, I'd be far more interested in wreaking revenge on the guards who made my life a living hell for years instead offering forgiveness. After what they'd done to me, I sure wouldn't allow them to just slip away quietly if I could help it.

A good movie. But why Hollywood never made a similar about the 7 million Ukrainians exterminated in 1933? The only one I've seen is Harvest of Sorrow, a movie with a second-rate script, no memorable music, unknown director, and even less known actors.

Those nazi soldiers knew their lives were no longer in danger if they didn't massacre those innocent people. Hence why they all walked away.

Why are they listening to an English broadcast by Winston Churchill? Would these people understand English?

The fact that he was corrupt, utterly selfish, a playboy, and completely amoral, was the only reason he was able to accomplish what he did. A truly wonderful imperfect contradictory man, and an amazing transformation.

Who could blame the jews for wanting revenge

Schindler actually did have speakers installed throughout the factory and broadcasted Churchill's speech detailing Germany's surrender and told his workers that they were free to go anywhere they wanted but lamented there was nothing more he could do for them.

I like the subtle detail of the commandant just standing there, as if considering Schindler's offered proposition, before turning down the opportunity and just leaving along with the rest of his men.

May 7th, 1945.. Schlinder's boss shot himself in his Berlin bunker with his wife Eva Braun on April 30th, 1945.. Oscar Schlinder and his 1,200 people were very safe at this point.. So proud of him!! In a matter of hours if not minutes, the Third Reich will pass into history... Hitler and most of his close entourage are dead already, Goering is in allied custody, and Himmler is hiding as a coward.. Yeah it is not worth putting the world as in danger anymore..
