How to Create an Isometric Text Effect in Adobe Illustrator

i cant ungroup the second time? what should i do

I can only ungroup once and the expand is not giving the same result?

For the people who have a problem with expand object and then ungroup in Illustrator 2021, 22 and newer:
In 3D materials and effects list are two versions of Extrude & Bevel - right in the list and one in 3D (Classic) section. You need to use Extrude & Bevel (Classic) /in 3D section/ to expand and ungroup. Otherwise you won't be able to ungroup object. First Extrude choice will expand it to picture.

Expanding to get outlines does not work.

in cc2022 when i go to expand appearance it doesn't create individual shapes and if i "ungroup" nothing happens, it's just a box.

I can't get past the "expand appearance" step. It never gives me the option to ungroup anything... I can never select the individual faces of the letters :( Help?

Great video! I succeeded the first couple of tries, but now when I go to blend the text it does some sort of weird warp and I haven't got a clue why?! Any chance you would know?

Thank you so much for this tutorial I had so much fun creating this minis the shadow part lol for easy way round for shadows I first selected the text then from the second top bar I chose "style" then "drop shadow" and ok .. not a very clean shadow but good enough for a beginner

Sometimes when I merge some of the rounded bits it creates a gap that i can't seem to fix and I see my bg. Anyone have a solve for this?
