I don't care about "freedom" in video games. Spoon feed me the next missions. As long as it's challenging, good graphics, and a good story... I don't want to spend anytime getting to the next mission.

Seriously, most of the time in open world, i have no idea where im going and it takes me 2 hours just to figure that out
This was the problem i had with pokemon scarlet
At least in sword, there was only a small amount of open world, but it was enough that you could tell where you are and where you need to go


And also, where you need to go is not 2 bajillion miles away

Literally the reason why I didn't like elden ring compared to other souls and dropped it on 120h of gameplay. Open world is literally points of interest scattered around big ass map where 80% is just empty space

You know it was filmed in LA when no matter where you are, you can't escape the constant ear poison of highway noise.

open worlds with ways to move around faster. Ie choices between various modes of transportation, ranging anything from walking to teleporting. Then the meticulous exploration can be done if and when you want.
