Hey! I always love your content and that's way good 😊. I've a question About this lens can I use this lens with sony zv e10 and is it good in very low light? Ammm... Approx in 25% light condition.
ОтветитьYears back I bought the A6000 used and I am now returning to the hobby. I currently have the Sony 3.5-5.6 18/55 lens that I use to take pictures of my friends and pieces of technology like steam engines. A few questions:
1. My used lens is not the standard kit lens, but I can't really find where it fits in. It seems to be made of metal and of decent quality. What is the general consensus on this lens and would this Tamron be sharper and work better in low light situations? It looks pretty banged up from the outside but I think the lens itself is still good (maybe a bit greasy).
2. Currently I am disappointed with the low light performance of the camera. I understand newer cameras can handle higher ISO values. If I spend a good chunk of money on this new lens, would I be able to use it on a newer camera later on or is the Sony a6x00 series expected to be discontinued?
3. As this lens is quite big/long, would it be better to upgrade to a used full frame camera with kit lens in terms of portability?
I've just added the Tamron 11-20 f2.8 to this lens. No regrets!
ОтветитьThank for this video dude, i needed something like this to secure my purchase, definitly the zoom plus is something to have in consideration. maybe its true that sigma has a little better sharpness but meh, it will depends of who is watching and where
Thank for your content , keep doing it!
Jimmy, I've been enjoying your content lately and this video of yours solidified the decision to get the Tamron on my Sony a6000, paired with the Samyang 12mm F2.0 manual for landscapes / astro and possibly the Sigma 56mm F1.4 for portrait / candid night street photography.
Whilst the Sigma 18-50mm is a good choice, having the extra 20mm and stabilisation with the Tamron effectively future-proofs your camera lens if you decide to delve deeper in your photo journey, saving more time and money for that next lens you may need.
Would you recommend taking the Sigma 56m F1.4 for purely travel as well as the Tamron + Samyang, or is the third lens a but too much for you?
If i need lens else with this lens, which pick ?
Ответитьis there a difference in quality between this and the 28-75mm f2.8? where im from i can get the latter used for way less. would it be worth it?
ОтветитьLove t hat decision making process
ОтветитьI'm deciding between those 3 lens now and do similar, both event and travel photography! Only wondering are your sample pics edited? They look amazing, but also a little color corrected, so not sure?
ОтветитьWow, your work is awesome! I’m thinking of trading my APS-C for a full frame cam but I don’t think I need to, just to get paid work! Thanks man!!
ОтветитьThe price is to high😞😞😭
Ответитьi was choosing a lens to buy, and your video helped me a lot, saving money for this lens
ОтветитьGreat video! Have you tried the sigma and compared the two? I think Im going for the Tamron, but every review I watch say that sigma and Sony is just a little bit better BUT, I don’t have IBS cause I have a Sony a6300, so therefor I think I might go for the Tamron
ОтветитьYour videos are super cool ! I just bought the lens 2 days ago to remplace my Sony 18-135. I read you only use nd filter for video matter, any thoughts on uv filter to protect the lens ?
ОтветитьGreat video man, your points made me purchase the Tamron. 😀
ОтветитьDas ist nicht ebay das ist Amazon 😂😂😂
ОтветитьI have 1 question:
How often do you utilize 50-70mm range ? is it worth it over the sigma ?
Excellent video 👍🏻
Just ordered this lens, sooo glad you said what you did .
I rush bought this in haste.
My preference: Sony, Sigma, then Tamron. The Sony sits in the middle in terms of weight and size (very important to me), while having the best AF accuracy, and sharpness among the three. The only problem is the price.
After waiting for some time, i got one used at a similar price to the Tamron brand new (still expensive, but wth..)
I’m very impressed with image quality, and having really good AF and sharpness wide open at any focal length does make it easier to get good shots in fleeting moments.
I also chose between these three lenses, and reasoned similarly: The Sony 16-55 didn't make much sense to go for due to its price. I could've gone for the Sigma 18-50, which also has a lower minimum focal distance, which I could take use of. However, I don't mind the extra weight and price of the Tamron, if it means that I'll get that extra focal range. It also does close-ups well, and the stabilization is great for handheld photos and videos, which I do a lot of. I always buy my lenses second hand, and the best purchase I found was the Tamron, and I'm happy with it. I spent a lot of time researching these trio of lenses before I made a decision, so hopefully I could make someone else's decision easier with this comment, haha. 😂
Congratulations on an interesting and high-quality video. I predict great growth for your channel!
How do you like the 17-70 combo with the Samyang? I have the Tamron for my Fuji and the Viltrox 13mm 1.4 and am wondering if that will be good combo for my upcoming Europe trip (London, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, etc)
Also have a 10-24 F4 but figured the 13 would be better to have at least one low light lens.
What about 70-180 mm F/2.8 from Tamron ? I am confused a little bit which one I should get, this 17-70 or 70-180 ?
ОтветитьCool video. So what do u recommend for me as a cyclist taking nature & sport shots, this 1770 or the Tamaron 18-300 ? I am carrying the camera with a strap on my back while cycling!
ОтветитьThe Tamron 17-70 f2.8 is my favorite lens!!!
ОтветитьHi Jimmy, do you think this lens could be an option for portrait photography? I mean, could you get some nice background blur when you zoom in?
I want to have one lens for portrait and landscape photography and not worry about carrying multiple lenses with me.
Pro: When hands aren't shaky you can shoot at 1/10 at 17mm f2.8. so you dont have to raise the ISO too mich and get a sharp picture. I like it
ОтветитьI'm currently switching from my Canon DSLR to the Sony E System as my main camera. The Tamron 17-70 will also be my first lens for the a6300, precisely because of the image stabilizer and the unique zoom range. Thanks for sharing your opinion and experiences about the lens!
Freue mich schon aufs nächste Video! Grüße aus BaWü ❤ 📷
I bought the Tamron over the holidays this year and have been using it to photograph my son’s volleyball games. So far, the lens is super sharp and is able to freeze the action perfectly with the right shutter speeds. The zoom length is good for this distance too. Can’t wait to use this outdoors when it gets warmer. Thanks for the videos!
ОтветитьI love this video, the decision process you made was the exact same as me, although I was considering the 18-135 too. I wanted a lens that I could take backpacking with me around the world but also use in pretty much any scenario so I chose the Tamron
So far it's been great, I only got it at Christmas and have been in Budapest on holiday and took some cool pics, although I'm finding most of my shots are definitely at the higher end of the zoom range, maybe this means my next lens should be a 70-200. I also hope to get into portrait photography too someday
Trying to decide between this and the 18-105G for both video and photography they seem to be similar size
ОтветитьVery insightful video, Jimmy! I liked hearing why you chose the Tamron over some of the other lenses. You named some reasons I probably wouldn't have considered as quickly! I've been impressed with the Tamron lens ever since I've been following your videos and I will definitely bear that lens in mind for when the time comes for me to upgrade my camera gear :) And I also liked how you included a thumbnail of each of your past videos that you took clips from! I am sure that the people who haven't seen those videos yet (which they really should!) appreciate it.
ОтветитьI just texted you yesterday to help me decide between the Tamron and Sigma and here you are posting an video on the same and saving lives. Keep up the good work!
ОтветитьHi jimmy. I was just hesitating between the Tamron and the Sigma 18/50 f2.8, and your video has answered me perfectly that I am more interested in the Tamron. Great photos and very nice videos.
I like the editing you do to the photos. Regards.
What do you think of the sigma 18-50mm f2.8 comparing to this tamrom lens?
Ответить30mm 1.4 would be my choice (if I had sony's apsc camera)
ОтветитьGreat Video Jimmy!
