How are the antiquarian's abilities "seemingly useless"? Once you level up her full team dodge buff (especially when stacked with someone like the grave digger) your heroes become virtually untouchable

As it stands with darkest dungeon I got to like the level 9ish areas after managing to struggle through the beginner and intermediate, but then it felt like the advanced areas just felt unfair to me. Constant crits and losing units id spent a while leveling and upgrading to random encounters where they got grit twice then panicked and I put the hands down. I want to hear it someday, but that was just painful

The fact that you teach me in this video that hunger tiles can only proc every 2 rooms and that i just got hit with 4 hungers in 8 rooms 😅😅

Great video. I played the game for around 6 hours on release and just never got around to really sinking into it. I've been streaming to a friend while playing now and having a great time. I'm going to actually take the time to complete it now. I was told to use all the dlc except the crimson court for my first run. I don't know if you or anyone else would advise that, but it was what I remember being told a while back. There weren't any dlc when I last played so I have no clue lol. Either way It's a great game.

Lies all lies... I'm pissed about RNG when it comes to having high acc but somehow still MISSING A HIT and then somehow they hit you for 20+ dmg

Normally when I see that my team doesn't seem to be able to continue I just retreat :/

Cove: bring medicinal herbs. every one you can buy. Food salvage is nice, but the coral altars are what you want to remove negative quirks for free and without losing the merc for a week

ANOTHER THING! In the cove, there is a thing of coral that gets rid of negative quirks when using Herbs on it, so be sure to bring some when you want to change some stuff.

Early Bank with antiquarian runs speeds up late game gearing so much

i never knew what imposter syndrome did for the first week of playing. my crusader decided to skip 5 turns in a row VS the miller and died. imposter syndrome is a 4% CHANCE TO PASS THEIR TURN AUTOMATICALLY

My peaps keep going insane!

Bank earns interest at 5% per week. Grind for gold with the Antiquarian until you have 1M (50k/week) socked away and you'll have enough money to buy every standard trinket you want and still never lose money, even with failed expeditions.

After 1,300 hours of gameplay my favorite team comp going from left to right is: Plague Doctor/Bounty Hunter/Houndmaster/Flagellant.

The better a person becomes at playing the game the better Flagellant becomes, & ultimately surpasses Vestal as the best healer in the game. In the end, Vestal is a crutch for poor choices in battle & a person can absolutely beat champion dungeons without her.

Helpful, but not too helpful. I think most advice here sounds like it is for absolute beginners.

I just bought the game (10 hours in) and I don't like it. It's one of those bad RNG games.
Cultist Simulator being and example of a good RNG game.
Things I absolutely hate about this game:

1. Hunger checks even though your team has literally food-healed a minute ago.

2. Game tempting you to spend on upgrades that are completely useless (sanitarium and tavern)

3. In game DLC promotion. It just makes you feel like you didn't buy the complete game and that the bad RNG is somehow tied to it (this video just confirmed it with the Cartographer).

4. Due to math&RNG shenanigans I've had enemy teams taking double turns.

5. This no light = better loot thing doesn't make any sense. And you know the game is pushing a mechanic when it makes no sense.

For me, i always bring extra food and torches whenever i go on quests. Because you never know when rng will mess you up by giving you constant hunger checks, bringing tons of food for medium and long quests will also ensure that you can always use the feast option for stress heal. And in regards to bringing extra torches i cannot stress enough (get it) how powerful light manipulation is, snuffing your light meter at the end of a fight specially if you're in a treasure room or you have scouted multiple curios in the next hallway will give you tons of loot which will help you a lot. This is much more powerful in veteran and champion dungeons where the loot scales up a lot. And when you just started, don't be afraid to kick off heroes with high stress or have bad quirks to save money and make room for better ones.

Mega pro tip - Don´t do anything you see in the background gameplay of this video. What a compilation of failures.

Another tip that comes to mind about stress, when a hero gets virtued don't fret about them getting stressed out, if they reach 200 stress it resets to 0 but they loose their nerve without affliction, rolling the dice again when they reach 100 next time. Otherwise avoid reaching 200 stress as it gives the hero a heartattack, dropping their health to 0 immediately, and if they were already on death's door then the heartattack kills them before you can act; likewise if they're Masochistic or hopeless, or another hero is afflicted with abusive or irrational, they can be killed by friendly fire after a heart attack.
