Transforming my TINY bathroom…Part 1!

Wow, you get the authenticity award girl! I mama who else would tell the truth about Thai whole situation. Again, it’s just so refreshing to watch someone else go through these bumps and blunders that WE ALL GO THROUGH. Hey, life and always perfect t and pretty and that’s what a lot of us are here for….to see it all go down and relate to the dang process not the result necessarily. What a great way to connect with your audience. I think I speak for everyone when I say I appreciate it and can’t wait to see what happens next hahaha!!!

Caroline, while I would never say I like watching you in pain, your acknowledgment that you hated the main design feature you selected came as a HUGE relief to me. Really - this makes me so happy.
There have been times when I spent precious dollars on a decor item, only to be hugely disappointed once it was in my home. “What’s wrong with me?” I’d berate myself, “Don’t you even understand what you like?” I’d call myself impulsive, irresponsible, a spendthrift...
And then I’d beat myself up some more over how I clearly don’t deserve to be happy with my decor because I can’t be trusted to choose nice things or to spend money wisely. I’d get mad at myself, and give up.
I see now that these “errors in imaginings” happen to the best of us. Sometimes we don’t know how we’ll feel about something before testing it out. Sometimes we love the way something looks in someone else’s space, and it doesn’t work in our own... whatever. There are a plethora of things that can go sideways in any creative endeavor.
I guess the moral of the story is that we’re all just trying our best, and life is a series of attempts and lessons and adjustments and refinements. I’m not to blame... it’s just something that happens.
So thank you for this valuable life lesson! I’ll bet you never realized how much your struggle would end up freeing someone of their angst!

I like the wallpaper, but it doesn't go with the shower. The pattern might be too much for the size of the room. Perhaps if she used gold towel bars, trim, and accents??? Skinny(cheap) purple and red trim??? Green diagonal checkerboard flooring? It's got a Mary Englebreit vibe. A purple vase would have been better if she wants purple. Big patterned floor really makes the room smaller - perhaps a much smaller checkerboard tile...

I like the gold paint in redo #2 if less intensity.

Perhaps an allen wrench was needed for the towel bar?

OMG 3 minutes talking about a bin (wastepaper basket). Yanks really love the sound of their own voice. Had to put it on double speed to get through the video, it was so tedious. And why would you put an open bin in the bathroom where you can see all the rubbish in it.? Don't you have pedal bins over there.? 😅

I believe your mistake was not carrying warm tones from LR into the bath. Grey was not harmonious esp in small apt.

Right from the start I was calling out at the screen from art & colour-theory lessons ; "Wait! You've got the tiniest bathroom in the universe & you're using a super-busy William Morris-ish wallpaper without the arsenic green & covering up all the natural warmth in both the wood & the floor? STOP, it's a bathroom, not a TARDIS. It's going to appear smaller on the inside, like you're in a bar fridge." Guess you figured that out.

I LOVE the wallpaper, if I can find it I’ll buy it. My tiny bathroom is needing a makeover. I live in my daughters basement. I thought I wanted a totally white bathroom but after seeing this wallpaper I fell in love with it!!!

I know you won’t like to hear this after lol. But it’s easier to paint the trim outside. I would spray paint mine and let it dry before putting it on the wall, it would save in a million ways, time priming and tape and there are mate and satin sprays that are much easier to work with than glossy. I changed all the baseboards on my previous house painting it outside. And I spray painted my closet doors and drawer faces all taking just the small part outside and spray paint is so FUN to use

What’s your trick to staying productive and following through with a project? I tend to start projects and never complete it or I rush it and it doesn’t look good. How to I get out of that funk/bad habit 😭

I would have put wallpaper on the upper part of the wall only. Also, is it kitchen and bathroom paper, to withstand the high moisture and it's washable too?

I love that wallpaper, however I have been where you are and removed that which was beautiful, but not loved.

That whole trim situation was so bad 😭😭 but we've all made decisions and been total delulu about how we actually feel about what is happening applauds to keeping it n showing the whole process

Hi Caroline! I love your videos and bombastic personality, and have been following for months now. As an illustrator, I find the milkmaid DJ images hilarious, but just wanted to point out the ethical issues with AI. Tools like that steal from artists and photographers as they don't use non-copyrighted images in their libraries (I've found my own art on libraries like that). Without going too much into it, it's affecting our livelihoods. I know you care a lot about work of artists and crafters so please understand not using/promoting its use!

I mean, I personally love it. Like yeah okay, I agree the wallpaper is could have been a LITTLE nicer with a greener tint than is shows on your walls. But I like sober. I also LOVE the colour you used on your mirror and trim and the accents of your bathroom!
