Good info, but I'm interested to block them as a subscribed viewer, as they are usually ad for most recent video which you just watched. I know some are good containing content not viewable elsewhere. But willing to miss those, to get rid of redundant ones.

I am also hating the shorts if I wanted that I would watch tik tok, some of the people I am subscribed have created another account to show shorts which is a much better idea so I can choose whether to subscribe to.

Not a creator - but I hate shorts with a vengeance.
As a subscriber to a channel that does informative long form content, that's what I am looking for.
It's extremely annoying get constant shorts notifications, and unfortunately Google doesn't allow me to turn them off.

I didn't know my videos where being put on Shorts. A Subscriber on my Channel, named one of the squirrels and since it's on Shorts, haven't gotten any replies.

This is helpful to those with a channel. How about us subscribers who are being bombarded in our notifications with shorts that we are NOT subscribed to. I have tried 1000's of times to 'not receive notifications' but they come thru, usually 10+ per day. They are foreign posts and not offensive but I'm tired of it filling up my notifications box. Again - I am NOT subscribed to these 2 channels.

You're a god send. The just changed something where now 9/10 videos in my feed is "notify me" future videos. It's so annoying when looking for something to watch rn..

Ohhh, is that why I'm not getting notified for shorts uploads? I actually find that really annoying because I want to see ALL shorts from the people I'm subscribed to. Now I have to manually check their shorts list every day to see if there's anything new, and that's going to be really time consuming. Also I'll almost always be late to them. Dang it!

I have deleted multiple channels in the past couple months because they keep pushing these stupid shorts. If I wanted to play tiktok I would sign up to be a commie. Wish I could filter out the useless notifications in my subscriptions as well.

I have been turning off all notifications from channels I follow that post shorts. So annoying!

my videos do not have that checked and they are still on YT shorts. I am posting my videos on my website and I don't want these to be shorts. Need more help on this subject, please.

Could have said at the beginning that there's no way to hide them since you can't upload actual shorts via the PC anymore-

But when you post like this, what can make the video viewed as a short video appearing in the short shelves and not a normal video that is vertical?

You hit the nail on the head. I have an existing channel and I decided to test shorts for the next month and I was worried about spamming my current subs and having them unsubscribe! I turned off my notification. Thanks Melissa!

I wish the creators I've been following did this. A few of them have been making shorts recently, and I don't like them, but they are in my feed, and at first glance look like a normal video I want to watch.

If you upload in the app, there are options to add music and text, is there any way to do that if you upload on pc? The best way I could figure out was to go back and forth, first saving it on pc as unlisted, then editing to add music and text in the app, then back to pc to make it public and hit the hide from subscribers button but I think that might be a little excessive lol.

When Shorts first got rolled out, I made the mistake of uploading all of my TikToks that performed well at one time. I lost 19 subscribers in one day, which is a lot for me. Haha, oof.

Thank you very much for this advice. I want to alert my community of new videos, but shorts I wanted to turn off as I sometimes post many in one day and the spam can cause a loss of a subs. Thank you for this.
