I can't even get how to turn a smart plug on and off with an NFC tag let alone all this.
ОтветитьI enjoy your videos very much, but could you please stop using the word "Echo" to stand in for "Alexa"? Plenty of folks use "Echo" or even "Ziggy" as their trigger word. Perhaps you could use something like "Amazon Thingy" or "Bezos Box". Thanks.
ОтветитьI would have a reminder to drink water first thing in the morning, take my vitamins, have my coffee start automatically and a reminder to eat my overnight oats...oh, morning music.
ОтветитьScare kids back to bed can be used to implement on an alarm system with a scary message!
ОтветитьThe vitamins example would also be good for pets to not over feed them or for those caring for others who have to take tablets. It can be easy to forget if they've taken them, or if there's multiple people caring for them, making sure each other knows what they've done... this could definitely help that process.
Ответитьthe grocery idea makes no sense per your automation.
better off having a mini click in the garage that she clicks to alert the alexa/google to help with groceries
For the dynamic alarm are you using your phones alarm or a smart speaker to set it up ??!
ОтветитьTrigger: 730 &745 everyday, Conditions: google cal says "WORK" today, weather temp below 10c, Action: Start FordPass Vehicle Starter
Trigger: front door opens, Conditions: Fordpass Location is HOME, Remote Starter is Running or has not been off for over 10 minutes, Trigger: Unlock Fordpass Doors
What exactly did you do to get the vacuum to go into vacuum only mode when triggered?
No matter what I do, it defaults to vacuum and mop mode when I trigger it via the home assistant app
I thought the wife said 'him'
ОтветитьMeh. All of them sound barely useful. I mean you could just press a button in the app for the Roomba to clean the bathroom. Nothing really DIY. Boring...
Ответитьno approval from me.
ОтветитьGor for it and take it all way further 👊
ОтветитьCool automations, I love the Ferris Bueller quote!
ОтветитьLove all of these ideas! For your Withings Sleep mat, how quickly does it detect your presence getting into and out of bed? From what I've read, it can be delayed up to 20-30 seconds.
ОтветитьThese automations are fun, but not particularly practical. The idea of home automation is to trigger events without having to consciously adjust your behavior. You can do a lot of these using state variables that eliminate false positives and not have to physically pickup the smart phone. I wouldn’t say most of the automations go overboard, they are clever an fun, but I feel if you have to remember to set your own conditions it defeats the purpose.
ОтветитьWould love to see a weekly or monthly video edition of crazy automations that you and your subscribers from around the world do. Unique things that we can all use if we need to.
ОтветитьI might make my ceiling lights flicker when I pound my desk so people think I hit harder.
ОтветитьMaybe put the NFC tag behind a picture. Maybe the picture can be a sign of the automation.
ОтветитьI dig the first one. And good call on Ted Lasso. Brilliant show.
ОтветитьYour taking it wayyyy to fair!!
Ответитьwatching your videos your wife seems like a total jerk who's feedback is "i turned it off" that must be infuriating
ОтветитьIt's not just in films 😁 One winter, a professor turned on a heater in the classroom. It's one of those old ones with the tubes. Only one of the tubes was working so the heating was minimal. A friend gave the heater a careful slap and one more tube came back to life! 😁 We were all thankful to him.
ОтветитьGot the bed sensor need kids now suggest a good spouse please.
ОтветитьCan you adjust an alarm dynamically by checking the earliest meeting on your work calendar the following day?
ОтветитьExpectation: something is automated
Reality: you need to press the button every time
Literally all the same idea used for stupid shit
ОтветитьThe title should be "finding problems for a solution". All of these are unnecessary
Ответитьwhy u speak so slowly
ОтветитьDefinetly taken too far on a few of the ideas. The whole setup assumes that certain habits or actions have to be fixed, else the automation fails
Ответить1.5 Times speed fixes the weird audio slow down that is happening.
No... but for real 1.5 speed makes him speak at normal human tempo.
I can't imagine living my life at the whim of my spouse...... So sorry guys!
ОтветитьWhat Alexa skill are you using for the roborock?
ОтветитьNow I want to get a old school Jukebox, mount a vibration sensor and do a Fonzie impression every time I want to play some music
ОтветитьI haven't heard so much BS in my life before
Just use your brain and don't waste time of the viewers
The vitamins should be placed on some king of a button, so the vitramins action activates when you pick it up :D
Ответитьhmmz percussive maintenance as automation gestures :P
ОтветитьI don't have an automated robot to clean my home, but I love the entertainment system option. Can you automate my girlfriend so when I tap her, she knows where to go clean up after herself?....lol
ОтветитьThis video was fun.
Ответить"Kids, I need some help, go jump on dad and wake him up." That one cracked me up!
ОтветитьI have vibration sensor (zigbee) in my mail box. Automation- message to my phone and a light on.
ОтветитьHome automation: yes please.
Connecting that automation to the internet: absolute no go.
Need another version that doesn't rely on the usual smart home systems nor a wifi that is connected to the Internet.
I really like the alarm timing thing a lot.
Ответитьgreat video
ОтветитьIf you actually used scary voices to keep your kids in bed I bet you didn't keep them in their room or get sleep because the kids having nightmares
ОтветитьWhenever I watch your videos, I get data protection nightmares.
Ответитьthis guy sneaked in everywhere his family visits to place nfc :D
ОтветитьHow do you get Lady A to say stuff when not being 'woken' with the magic word?
Ответить
