I'm impressed he knew that much about The First/Second Age just off the cuff.

To be fair, with it being Third Age we can get a lot more in depth into the battles and events that weren't seen in the movies, for example, the entire campaign against Dale and Erebor by the Easterlings, events occuring in Harad and Umbar, the Dunedains, the Blue Mountains, post Balrog Moria etc. Although I would prefer two faction Good vs Evil style game (like Alliance vs Horde) I would be happy if the only faction was the Good people of Middle-Earth.
I would absolutely drop WoW if the Lotr MMO is effectively WoW Classic in Middle-Earth

You guys do realise the third age lasted over 3 thousand years? The Trilogy was at the very end of it

Rings of power was trash the LOTR movies are where its at and should have stuck with more consistent their is so much story untold and unfinished

Thank God Lotro is a thing and probably the most immersive MMO to just explore to date, I don't want to be pessimistic but I really have no faith for this project.

Asmongold should really try the existing LOTR MMO (LOTRO), if not to have a comparison base and to see the care Amazon gaming studio should have when working with Tolkien material. The game is old but it endured and still patching new content to this day (entering the Umbar lands later this year) and is a must for any LOTR and gaming fans. I feel they that absolutly care for Tolkien works in building the game world and for anyone who loves Middle Earth it is great to just be able to travel it. From such iconic places like Moria, Rohan and Minas Tirith to places that dont get the same attention like Forochel and Dunland.

Woke fund's will give money? Or New World get down and need new MMO? Or both?

I can totally see a Sméagol raid what do you mean? So many different events go on when they’re down there I feel like it’s possible. There’s even a boss battle.’they could brush it off as a dungeon but I could definitely see a fun raid out of that being made

1st age would be awesome, but because Amazon doesn't have rights to the Silmarillion I don't think we'll see it unfortunately.

They could totally start the game off in the first age and work their way through the timeline with updates. The potential is absolutely insane.

Fourth age would have been the best option for an mmo tbh. More freedom to do shit, less shuffeling around pre-defined stuff.
Many old fresh warzones would exist in the world, factions that popped up in the power vacuum, great upheavals could bring out old slumbering evils like dragons and other legendary critters.

First age would be a bland - this is good, this is bad and we all know who is going to win game scenario, Second age is better in many regards, but I still feel it would feel pointless and restrictive. Third is utterly done. So for me .. fourth.
