Thanks for the detailed review of the TP-Link EAP225 Outdoor access point. It's great to see what comes in the box and all the specifications you covered. I was particularly interested in the mesh capabilities, but it's a bummer that the EAP 110 doesn't support it. Looking forward to your future video when you get the EAP225 for meshing.

One thing I'd like to know more about is the range coverage of this access point. You mentioned you were getting almost 100 Mbps in your backyard, but could you provide some insights into how far the signal can reach?

do the antennas need to be pointing up-ish? common sense tells me yes, but I wonder if they would be effective with the access point lying horizontally and pointing forward, for example on the hood of a car.

I have a question: I have a shop about 600 feet from the main wifi network and can not run hardwire from the router all the way to the TP link. How would you recommend I go about getting a network to the shop? Will it work to put a TP link outside the house and point it in the direction of the shop about 600 feet away? Or do you have some other recommendation? Although I am tech savvy, this is my first time using technology like this. I greatly appreciate your help!

How did you physically connect 5 together? Which ports and setup? Do I have to run a a cable for each unit to the router/switch or can I piggy back from each unit if one is already installed?

hi brother I like to know about that Ac1200 is plug and play? 2nd question it must be connected to wifi back Ethernet port? 3rd question what type of cable must i buy is it Cat5 or Cat6?

I just want to use it as a outdoor repeater for my modem/gateway in my house...no cables just power to the unit these videos make it seem as if it needs a hard connection to work. I have a 1 acre property with a small apt in the back corner my current setup gives two bars 68db signal to that area but its not strong enough for my security cameras. unable to run wires, put holes in walls etc..

I have one question, if i want to connect the TP-Link EAP225 to a Rasperry Pi, do I need to use the POE injector, to power it, or the ethernet cable is enough? Or if I would use an Ethernet to Ethernet&DC cable, could i be able to power it?

I have TP Link EAP 110 One in the front yard one in the back and it was hooked into my router and it was always working under the routers name. Now my router is messed up and now it’s showing up as TP link and I have no security on it. They have been working perfect for years and now I don’t have the password how hard is it to do a full reset

Does the EAP225 have the ability to perform as an extender where is broadcasts the same wifi network as your router? I have devices on my property that for security reasons they only stay connected to one another if they are on the same wifi network.

<100Mbps out of a 1Gbps connection while standing right next to the AP with no obstruction? Isn't that really bad?

this guy probably had his SDN controller on dual band mode and his phone only communicate via 2.4Ghz frequency as the SDN always connects at 2.4G first. the controller has a habit of only switching to 5Ghz when it sense that you're connected to 2.4G with very good reception long enough usually 40sec - 1 minute before it switch frequency.

usually its 80-90mbps for 2.4Ghz and 200 - 400mbps on 5Ghz

Pretty useless “wifi mesh” access point if it requires a 100 foot cable back to the router!

I'm running a Linksys router and several Linksys access points throughout the house. the router is a tri-band router along with the access points. I am in search of an outdoor access point for the yard because I'm going to be running ring cameras at the very end. will this unit work with a Linksys router system.

will the Ethernet port on the "client EAP225" that is not hardwired to the main router provide internet/lan access to the connected devices, like a normal repeater does? thanks

Tplink EAP’s Not recommended for large number of users. Go for unifi products is the best ever.

I am having trouble getting it off mesh and getting it on the lan, I shut off meshing in settings but says disconnected and its hardwired into poe switch, poe green light but lan dark

I had installed one of these for a small project in the open area between buildings and it worked, you need to consider for WLAN clients they should have a good antenna.
