Love this. Seth and TED never fail to inspire me. We need more of this every time!
ОтветитьFrom selling Jung to selling Jung ideas 😂😂😂 lying is a skill. Stem cells, cloning, nanotechnology are all examples of these pyramid schemes. All for the quick profits lining pockets of Faucci alike.
ОтветитьI am watching this in 2023 and this is still practical.
Ответитьwhat! just realize after watching the whole video and this is 16 years ago?! oh yeah i forgot because it is remarkable.
Ответитьgreat Ted Talk!
Ответить2023
ОтветитьNice

ОтветитьThe quantity of ads in this video is absurd and so annoying 🫠
ОтветитьBut how do you know if the people would want to listen?
ОтветитьThe Father of Marketing of all time is Jesus Christ, based on facts. (there was neither the Internet nor TV but his idea was the most spread out idea of all human history). 100 % of all the successful marketing books plagiarize either intentionally or unintentionally the Holy Bible, especially Jesus Christ's remarkable attitude. Marketers like, Seth Godin..., tell us to select the smallest viable audience, market, to talk about your idea; that is what Jesus did. Jesus dedicated deep all his entrepreneurship lives to only 12 customers (12 disciples if you wanna say that). Marketers like Al Ries and Jack Trought, tell us to choose a name that stands for what your product or service's main benefit is. Jesus name stands for Savior due to his service was about '' Salvation ''...Marketers tell us that your idea should be spread by your customers. Jesus Christ's customers were the ones who spread the idea. Jesus sometimes had to tell the customers to not spread the idea, but the customers wouldn't listen because his service was so good the only way the customers could release that tensions was to talk about to their family and friends Jesus Christ company. I have more to say, but I do not want to write a too long comment. Does anybody disagree with it? Sorry for any possible writing mistakes. English is not my first language, I do speak Portuguese...
Ответитьis there a way where i can Read this presentation?

All I know is Arby’s owes AD a nice check
ОтветитьSuper insightful, as always. Seth is awesome.
ОтветитьThere is ground base reality to consider as well. Not every strategy is a good one. I've heard many times--"if you believe enough you will be successful." That is not accurate. Like running to LA to become that actor with no backup plan. Luck is a huge factor in that fair or not, that is a reality. The idea that self belief is what makes the success driven successful is only a small part of the equation. The guru will tell you the universe aligns with you with self belief. Not true. Self belief + plan of action that is researched + massive effort----that is what makes success and sometimes ill luck causes failure as well. Most of the gurus, great or small say the same thing I tell my own subscribers--you have to plan well and engage in effort and constantly re-evaluate what is working and what isn't. Hope this helps someone out there---Charles

ОтветитьBS your way through it with a confident face and voice.
-World Religions
Challenge for you, market the Book of Mormon because it's the only untampered holy scripture. Or market BSV because it's the only real Bitcoin invented by Satoshi Nakamoto.
Ответитьamazing
ОтветитьI was (one time, kid you not) 300 feet from attending a Seth Godin speaking engagement.i was working on the ped mall streets slanging some quesadillas and grilled cheese. There was a customer who wanted one and had tickets and privileges, wasnt even aware of who Seth Godin was....
Ответить14 years and still inspiring!
ОтветитьPointless Pseudo science
ОтветитьMay God Bless Kashmir 💖
ОтветитьHahaha Otaku means COMPLETELY different in 2021. It's almost strange to hear him refer to Otaku as something other than Anime related
Ответитьso back to the sliced bread example. how was it not remarkable for the first 10-15 years? Why did it suddenly become remarkable?
ОтветитьGreat bro
ОтветитьWhy very good is boring very good is average
if it’s very good, it’s not going to work?
I don't quite understand this, anybody has any interpretation on this?
the disease of capitalism has spread well enough. nature will devise a virus to spread among humanity, to rid the world of the human menace. extinction is a part of reality. the rich are the enemy of life
ОтветитьLol, why does this guy look like Steve Jobs twin, with Jeff Bezos face?
Ответить14 years later, mass marketing is the problem.
ОтветитьThe connection between Seth Godin's talk and Elon Musk's first principles (Ok physic's firstprinciples that he's adopted) is that Otakus think with first principles. They are part of the minority that truly cares and will listen and take the effort to decide for themselves if an idea is actually remarkable. This is why you don't market to the middle of the curve. Even if you have something meaningful, they're less likely to get it. (ex. sliced bread took 15 years to be accepted).
ОтветитьRemarkable speech!
ОтветитьRemarkable; worth making a remark about 👌
