Fixing Focusrite issue where no audio is outputting

I have the same problem on MAC, however mines is still not working. I can hear this video audio but all my footage I can't hear through the Focusrite. On all other devices the audio works fine

THANK YOU! Have been all over the internet trying to figure out why I can hear live through headphones but no playback on the scarlett 2i2 - turns out when I switched the cord to a longer one that was the problem, I went back to the original (very short) cord and now I can hear playback!

My set up was working, until I moved my CPU and plugged the Focusrite back into a different USB outlet. It was plugging it into a USB 3 outlet that broke the sound output. Thanks for saving me some frustration.

I had a similar issue where the sound would suddenly stop outputting from the speakers and headphone for no apparent reason. I would have to restart the DAW or app to get it working again. I raised a technical support ticket with Focusrite and was sent an automated response with links to various fixes, but none of them worked. I guessed it was Windows / USB / power management related. I then found this video, and changed from USB 3.2 to USB 2.0 and the problem appears to be fixed after a few hours of testing. Focusrite states that the Scarlett Solo One (3rd gen) is "USB 2.0+" compliant, but this fix suggests that it may not be fully compliant.

I just reset to defaults from the Focusrite software and it fixed my issue.

What if I don't have a USB 2 port

"first I made sure that the Focusrite was my main audio output device from the toolbar". You didn't actually show what you clicked on to get that menu. I get that I can go to settings/audio, but I don't see any option in the toolbar...

Of course this will work as when you hot swap USB ports you are in effect doing a soft reset. DOH

Thanks for this simple trick man! I was busting my a$$ for days (as I removed every cable from my PC to reorganise my desk and replugged everything back without looking where the USB ports were)... Cheers again

This sucks. Switching usb ports works until you run out of ports. After that, plugging it into a port that you used before, Windows claims doesnt recognise the device. Restarting/shutting down does nothing. Im about to break a window of my own by throwing this piece of junk through it.
