If I would have known it was something I didn't choose and therefore out of my control, I would not have even tried dropping the junk food, eating less, and exercising - let alone getting my hormones right.
I wish we would move away from the walmart so I wouldn't be forced to eat their shitty packaged food and other people would finally let me get skinny.
I've just binge-watched this whole series in an afternoon - and what a great resource. All for free.

ОтветитьWhen I was 24 I decided to get veins in my abs lean. The challenge and process taught me a lot and I’m glad I did it, but I quickly learned how unsustainable it is be be that strict and constantly low energy. At that time in my life I had a ton of free time to execute this plan and it really encompassed most of my time and energy. Glad I did it but I will probably not be back there and I’d suggest you think hard about whether that’s what you really want to focus on.

ОтветитьI honestly kinda stumbled into being super lean. I could always easily lose weight by eating very little and exercising a lot and still feel great. Now however, I’ve settled at a very lean body fat with veins popping out of my arms and legs, with a six pack; and now if I’m not more calculating about it, I will get very weak, and maybe binge eat, etc.
ОтветитьMy question is how to maintain that level of leanness. I just finished my cut and am in the range he described. I still feel hungry at maintenance. Wonder how sustainable it is to stay this lean for the long haul

ОтветитьI agree with the idea of using phases. Anytime I've been sub 10% it was never a linear process. I would push as far as I could with my calorie deficit and then take a step back to eat at or slightly above maintenance. I tailor my cardio amount to whatever that calorie surplus is...and my idea of cardio is a long walk. Running makes me tear through the kitchen like a velociraptor who hasn't eaten for a month. There's a strange thing that happens during this two week break from dieting...I look better and even leaner. Vascularity pops more and the muscles look fuller. Then it's time to go back to the calorie deficit (right before I start gaining fat again) and it's actually very easy after taking a short break from it. And I just repeat that cycle until I can see veins in my midsection.

ОтветитьI lifted weights for years prior to my father dying from cancer. For some reason I started running every night to mentally deal with the sudden loss. I ran 8-10 miles every single night for a couple years after. I had my body fat tested multiple times at the gym and I always around 5.5% -7% BF at 6' 170lbs. Some people actually thought I was on steroids because of how shredded you look at low body fat percentages like that. Diet was on point back then but I was burning a stupid amount of calories with daytime weightlifting, night time running on top of walking a couple of miles on the beach most days to keep my tan up. Not sure what my body fat is now, it is definitely much higher but 9 years later I still have a visible 6 pack from that and my diet is often shit now but I still run a couple miles most nights on a treadmill in my living room on top of lifting a few days a week.

ОтветитьI got down to 6% from around 17% bodyfat in 16 weeks while working a very physical construction job and weight training 4-5 times a week. When you’re that lean you just gotta get through life day by day, every day is a struggle and you’re very hungry. I looked great but ended the diet with a borderline eating disorder. Filling out and getting big while lean when the cut is over is the cool part.
