I remember watching it on
Family Channel
Amazing series.. Just ended on Disney plus and it was beautiful
ОтветитьI do remember watching Pepper Ann as a kid, though I'll have to rewatch it given how long ago that was. I did recognise the beneath the desk gags, and also recall the Christmas and Hanukkah episode
ОтветитьPepper Ann has a lot of connections to Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, Codename: Kids Next Door, and Amphibia.
Pepper Ann feels like a sister to both Doug and Rocko's Modern Life (Nickelodeon's Doug included), due to the style, characters and writing, and Pepper Ann and Rocko's Modern Life are composed by Pat Irwin.
Pepper Ann's character designs are by Tom Warburton, who would create KND and Pepper Ann would inspire Anne Boonchuy of Amphibia.
A vid about the Jim Henson Dinosaurs would be very swag
ОтветитьOne of my favorite shows. Memories❤📺
ОтветитьI have good memories of this show when I was 7.
Nice video
So glad Disney+ brought this show back to life to entertain new generations.
ОтветитьFemale doug
ОтветитьThis show was a blast to watch. It took me a while later to find out that the creator of KND did the designs for Pepper Ann.
ОтветитьI actually caught this my senior year of high school, i had a halfday schedule, a best friend that always had weed an internship that started at 4pm lol. One day after school we were smoking a joint in my basement and he randomly turned on Toon Disney and this was on. It became my most favorite thing! i was so shocked i had never paid it any attention when i was in middle school lol. This and Mission Hill were ahead of their time.
ОтветитьKids shows have been talking about issues for a long time. The problem ist that show makers seem to have unlearned how to be subtle about it.
ОтветитьOh my god! This video is everything! I just started watching Pepper Ann on Disney+ and I definitely noticed the higher pitch with the theme song but I thought I was crazy! One Saturday Morning block was the jam and watching as a kid, I definitely didn’t get the jokes but now as a older Millennial, I’m giggling and smiling at these characters I’ve always admired!
I also would LOVE a complete DVD set with extras, fun facts like Pop Up Video style and interviews with where everyone is now! Nahnatchka Khan was a executive producer and she has an extensive career path now with her involvement in so many shows I love today and of course one of my crushes of all time Cree Summer 😋😋😋
I love this video and can’t wait to see more! I’m an instant fan! 🥰
I hope Disney doesn’t reboot this show.
ОтветитьPepper Ann has been my comfort show through very tough times. My co worker and I used to watch an episode or two at work on Disney+ (we worked the night shift) on Sunday. We used to order pizza and call it “Pepper Ann and Pizza” nights.
ОтветитьPepper Ann was part of my childhood in ToonDisney.
ОтветитьI love pepper ann,it was my obsession when I was a kid
Ответить👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьYEEHAW
ОтветитьI hold Pepper-Ann in the same place of my heart as Hey Arnold. Just brilliant, wonderfully animated, funny, wholesome cartoons of a unique kid growing up. Great formula, it's a shame they're aren't more like them, but perhaps that what makes them all the more special.
Ответитьoh you ABSOLUTELY need to check out Amphibia, it’s wonderful
ОтветитьThe show deserves better, people only remember it for the breast joke that annoys me because the top 10 moments I remember are the finale, the female political female camp, the death episode. Peppy and the house episodes, the season 1 finale,
ОтветитьI used to watch this show as a kid. Unfortunately it's still not on the UK Disney Plus service. :(
ОтветитьI was only vaguely aware of this show as a kid & only ever saw part of one episode. I didn't watch Disney back then so I didn't even know where I'd seen it. All I remember is Rasny.
Edit: I looked it up & apparently, it's Frasny.
I haven't seen this show for so long. I really enjoyed watching Pepper Ann
ОтветитьI remember watching Pepper Ann when I was really young as a kid but my memories of her was extremely fuzzy because I couldn’t remember a single episode when it aired whether it was on ABC, Disney Channel or Toon Disney but after finished watching season 1 and season 2 I’m almost done watching season 3 on Disney+ it’s a really great show better than I remembered there were a lot of the episodes I find to be funny and I find the character Pepper Ann funny because of her quirky personality. I’ll say this If you remembered watching a show when you were a kid but your memory was extremely fuzzy go back and look at it again and you probably might find better than you remembered.
ОтветитьRevised everything about Disney Plus, highly undervalued, a series that treats feminism as it should and that tells great truths that unfortunately Disney itself over the years because of the CEO Bob Iger has ended up taking back, really funny and with very nuanced characters, also at the level of themes hasn't aged one iota, indeed it was well ahead of its time, it deserves to be rediscovered in the world at all costs, and I'm glad that users like you are talking about it :)
ОтветитьLiking a superhero not based on immutable characteristics, but because of the content of their character and adventures they go on... something modern DC and Marvel could take some notes on.
ОтветитьLove the video, Pepper Ann has become a recent cult hit for me too! I like it about as much as Hey Arnold!
ОтветитьWow, it looks like I missed a lot of good episodes as a kid! I don't remember the Najavo one or the superheroine one! Pepper Ann was so weird, but unique. I remember the frog dissection episode and how Pepper Ann did successfully get to opt out and use a digital version instead. I still hate animal labs and it was rather traumatizing for an animal lover to be forced into it. TWICE.
........ aside from the animal experimentation in a science class episode, there was one where a mean old lady died and Pepper Ann was so confused by why everyone who normally hated her spoke kindly/pityingly of her after she died. I really disliked that one because in my religion, we're not supposed to speak ill of the dead (... or backbite the living!)... but I can appreciate that it was a completely unique plotline I never saw a kid's show deal with. So different. And even the lead character's stance on it wasn't a light I'd imagine a lot of shows want to frame their protagonist in.
It just did a lot of different stuff in general and tackled a lot of difficult and honestly unique subjects.
Also, the screaming kid's voice is etched into my memory, didn't realize that until the clip, fffffff.
Dammit. ANOTHER classic cartoon I NEED to add to my watch list. Thank you for the recommendation, but also damn you. Theres too much to watch, and not enough time.
ОтветитьLove the video. I grew up with this series a bit as a kid. Also, yes, you need to check out Amphibia.
ОтветитьOddly enough, I used to see a bit of Pepper Ann when I was also in 7th grade back in 1999. Of course this was during a very awkward time for me having to cope with my teenage years and only spending little time at school because it was getting too much for me. Thankfully, moving to another town and school at the years end, helped me a lot in the long run.
Ответитьgreat vid :)
ОтветитьDamn it. Now I'm theorizing that Pepper Ann and the crew were KND operatives back in the 90s. We need a show of that. That'd be lit af.
ОтветитьReally great video, I’ve watched your videos here & there, but I just recently subscribed. I liked watching this show way back when it was airing and I still remember some episodes. The Freaky Friday episode, the Trinket moving episode, and I’m surprised you didn’t bring this up, but it’s a little easy to mistake Moose for a boy sometimes.
Ответитьthis cartoon was a true gem.
ОтветитьThere’s just something about this guy’s voice. It’s magic
ОтветитьI really want to watch Pepper Ann...unforutnetly, its not available on Disney+ in the UK & Ireland yet, hope it is soon thou.
ОтветитьI think part of what helped Pepper Ann as a character is that her VA Kathleen Wilhoite previously voiced Cathy Andrews in her own brief show. Yes, the Cathy from the newspaper comics had a cartoon. And listening to Peppers voice for the first time? Yeah, that is exactly how I pictured Cathy’s voice when reading a strip.
ОтветитьDefinitely watch Amphibia! It’s a great show! I will say it gets really dark at times, but still enjoyable. Also, speaking of female lead Disney shows (both main character and creator wise), I also highly recommend The Owl House as well.
ОтветитьLoved it as a kid. Ahead of it's time
ОтветитьGood video! Glad I’m not the only one who made a video that covered the episode Dances with Ignorance. As cringe as it is, it’s also a good one and shows why Pepper Ann is a great character. Happy to see it’s getting more recognition cause of Disney Plus
