Hi, I appreciate your expertise. Are the jackets with red tabs that only have an @ counterfeit?
ОтветитьI have a 1950’s type II with blanket lining. Hope I can find it in your links?
ОтветитьHi, mi jacket have 529 of the back buttons, do you know what decade belong my jacket ?
ОтветитьI recently bought a type three jacket, it has a small E, it has a stamp 524 on the metal button, it also has a big Ford patch on the back I’m not sure if this person worked for Ford motor company or if it was just put on the back himself but I’m wondering what year it’s from it has no hand warmer pockets the label is completely blank so it’s really hard to tell it’s very distressed I bought it for only 20 bucks but I plan on fixing it up because it looks fantastic…
ОтветитьOff topic..apologies..i seem to remember in the early 70s on Scotlands East coast the shrink to fit jeans were a white or silver label? Also there was a Levis factory in Dundee then, also in rural Angus we bought Levis from the chemist which sold wellies, blaxnit socks, and Levis, the only Jeans prior to that were Woolworths big X jeans,Also the Fishermans association in Arbroath sold Lee jeans ,and Doc Martens ,especially shoes (early to mid 70s)
ОтветитьOops, I was going to say don’t get vaccinated but it’s too late…😢
ОтветитьTY great video and lots of information. Lots of help. Also learned the history or Levis.
ОтветитьThe buttons also have a horizontal mark accross them - I wonder if they were replaced at one point?
ОтветитьMine has 526 just visible on some of the back buttons. I bought it in 1988 and it was super old then. The buttons on the back are far too worn down to have been manually done then - everythng else checks out. Interestingly - even though the label is long done - there is a small care label that is printed rather than woven - bought it from a woman in Camden who told me it was her Dads. She seemed genuine enough - i just bought it as it was nice and think I only paid about £15 - £20 so why would she lie?
ОтветитьNO!! im not giving my LEVI jacket ive had since the -70s to my hipster Grandson..Why?. because hes an idiot!!💀
ОтветитьHi, Have you noticed that the type 2 jacket had some variations in front pocket size. I see some have bigger and I see some have smaller front back pockets. Are these different variations ?
ОтветитьHey, I have a couple type 3 truckers from the 70s I think (Small E, no hand warmer pockets). Is there any value there as vintage or is it only the Big E denim heads are into?
ОтветитьTHREE DIGIT NUMBER STAMP DOES NOT ALWAYS INDICATE IT IS A REPRODUCTION. The deadstock example you showed from second sunrise has a 525 stamp and they date it to "Late 60s-71"
ОтветитьI have a Canadian made type 3 it dates from the early 80’s I believe, roomy sleeves, vintage cut.
ОтветитьHey Matt. Great video! I have what appears to be a vintage orange tab trucker jacket. Flared collar. I think it says 01 or F01 on the back of the buttons. I'd be interested to know how old it likely is? 70s perhaps?
ОтветитьGOODJOB BRO
ОтветитьWhat’s up with the Sherpa jacket with a “Think Pink” ? Any information would be appreciated
ОтветитьI have Levis jacket XL since 1850 authentic made in Canada
ОтветитьAs someone who hits yard sales out here in California, this video really helped me with dating the Levi jackets I’m constantly seeing
ОтветитьGood
ОтветитьIn 2011 we donated my grandpa's type 2 Levi jacket... oopsie!
ОтветитьMy grandpa has 60 years worth of work denim in his storage I’m going to go through it soon. I know for a fact he has type IIs hanging in there. He said I can have what I want.

ОтветитьIf I own a old Levi jacket where could I sell it or get and appraisal for it ,
ОтветитьSorry just now getting into this… I’ve found a gen 3… but it has pockets. What does this mean/how much does it cost?
ОтветитьThank you it was very informative.

ОтветитьGreat video 👍 lots of help I'm in the west midlands UK I'm never going to find original Levi's big E type 1 or 2 but what I have found is a vintage type 1 and 2 LVC jackets for £25 each I'm happy they have the look and look great underneath my vintage Barbour international and vintage belstaff 👌 love mooching around vintage shops and market's 😎
ОтветитьI bought a Levi's jacket for my husband in the early 80's. It has the red Levi tag and the double breast pockets. It also has the Sherpa lining with quilted lining in the sleeves. There are no care instructions. The Levi tag on the inside is cloth with red lettering of Levi in all caps and San Francisco in all caps..Is it authentic? If so what do you think its worth..Still has its dark blue denim color and in excellent shape. No holes or rips.
ОтветитьLil confused where can I send a coupke pics of a Levi jacket
ОтветитьHi I like your video my dad did buy me a levis jacket when I was 1 or 2 years old, am 50 now so I believe that this jacket is tipe 3 for the information that I get from your video thanks I Stiller have it and I love my jacket problably I will going to give it to one of my grandsons in a future
ОтветитьI have a jacket my dad bought for me around 1962 or 3. It has a 557 XX label. Large E LEVI's label in the pocket. Two chest pockets and buttoned straps on the back on both sides. There are no rivets, just heavy yellow stitching next to the top of the pockets and at the top of the cuff seam. It has been worn, first by me and then by both of my daughters , so it has some condition issues. Most prominently, the stitching at the top edge of the collar has failed. But I can still wear it, as long as I don't have to button it up. Any idea of the value?
ОтветитьIs there an email address where I can send you some pics of an interesting Levi's item?
ОтветитьI think I have a type 3 ! I know it has to be at least from the 80s I’m curious ! It’s in great shape
Ответить1936 Type 1 is the pinnacle of denim jacket design. Imho
ОтветитьGreat video! I've been looking for resources to aid in narrowing down specifics while shopping online for Type III jackets from the 1980's-1990's. Can you recommend any videos or blogs that concentrate on reading date codes on the care tags, dates that the care tags changed (from red to black, to the current style, etc)? I'm shopping for a specific gift and am finding a lot of repeated, though good, information in my search and would appreciate any guidance!
ОтветитьThanks for the video. I have a 1972 or 1974 jacket that I got for my birthday in the above years. I’m not sure which but the jacket is now 50 years old. I’ve never worn it. It’s very stiff, the denim was thicker back than I think. I have kept this jacket all of these years because my Grandma got it for me for my birthday.
ОтветитьGreat video! How are called bat style jackets i thought that came after type 3, or was it just variant of type3?
ОтветитьWhen I was 16 in 1985 I bought a stone washed type 3 with the inside pockets were I would keep my SONY WALKMAN hidden from the teachers.
ОтветитьI sold a type one T back last year for 14,500
ОтветитьFound a Levi's Type I at my local Goodwill and watched this video to help me date it. Seems to have all indicators of being an original from 1947 or after. The big E is there, only one side, no registered trademark, front flap, Levi Strauss buttons, cinch back (buckle is rudimentary and bit rusty). No leather tag, I can see where it WAS but it looks like its been gone a long time. Thing is, other than missing the tag and some of the seams for the pleats coming undone, its in really good condition which makes me question its age. Any idea if these were ever repro'd or heavily counterfeited?
ОтветитьFav denim channel
ОтветитьHello. Owner of three acid wash jackets, am I the only one interested in this era?
ОтветитьWould love to see a type II raw jacket from the LVC line now that they're made in Japan.
ОтветитьI have a Levis denim jacket, Cardboard patch, Made in Philippines is written on the tag
can someone confirm what Year it might be?
for its cloth, it looks like it got some age
Hopefully someone could Help me.
Thank you guys!
Plenty of 1967 - '71 big E jackets have 3 numbers on the back button so that is not a good indication of reproduction.
