What is Vertigo?

First time getting vertigo today! I woke up and felt extremely drunk!!! Made me throw up and threw up blood. Ended up going back to bed for a few more hours. I still feel off. I hope this doesn't happen again. This is no joke.

I had vertigo a couple of hours ago, I've suffered from mild to sever dizzyness for years, ( high blood pressure, diabetes etc) but never had actual VERTIGO before..it was TERRIFYING 😮..the room was actually spinning in a vertical direction, it felt exactly like I had fallen from a window and was tumbling over and over..it is a VERY disturbing experience..PLEASE if someone tells you they have had this, do NOT dismiss it as "dizzyness"..I thought I was dying.🤔

No its not like drunk, its like you in a very heavy earth quake and pulled from one side to the other, or like on a ship with a very heavy storm and all is not strait anymore and you fall and need you hold yourself strongly on a stanle table and sit dowon, awall will not help, and then you start to through up all comes out or feeling horrible sick in the stomach. Very scary, you have no controll anymore over your body.

This is my first time experiencing vertigo. My first ever flight in my entire life (is in Hongkong where I'm currently in.) The first day, we just slept. Then the next day was a non stop bus, trams and train rides to explore Hongkong, rode escalators and lifts. Now, I am always out of balance feeling I'm still, or everything is moving.

Just got vertigo last night, fell into the wall multiple times. It sucks.

I used to be just fine by cliffs and high places, then one day I was hiking to a ledge sticking out into a huge canyon for a cool photo with a several hundred foot drop on my left side, the path was pretty narrow and my right foot bounced of the right wall and caught my left calf making me stumble which scared the life out of me, ever since then if I start to approach a cliff edge (like one with no railing or barrier) I get dizzy and feel like I'm going to fall over so I just have to sit down 10ft before the edge. It really only happends at that 10ft and closer mark, if I walk away everything is back to normal. Maybe my bodies way of not letting me accidentally un alive it. I used to love sitting on the edge of cliffs taking in the view, now I have to crawl up to them and hope my body doesn't cramp up before I can get there.

I have vertigo on airplanes that’s why I don’t like sitting on the middle isle. It feels like the plane is tipping down even on accent. Always constantly have to look out the window. On top the tinnitus and anxiety.

Any body else on here has had dizziness ever since taking a specific medication and hasn’t gone away?

In my case vertigo is not so much something which arrives in attacks more like a permanent state. the vestibular apparatus in the middle ear on both sides was completely destroyed by head injuries (which also left me 100% deaf). This cause doesn't seem to be included in the video, but I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to. I have not yet heard of any effective treatment or therapy for this cause.

I remember i didn’t feel good when I went to sleep I woke up in the morning for school still didn’t feel great so I stayed in bed for a bit and the room started spinning it stopped but it was the weirdest thing I’ve experienced

i suffer from panic disorder since covid and its been very hard , i even have a little bit of agoraphobia by the panic attacks . its like 2-3 months i feel very very dizzy when i go out during night , i feel a face pressure and tight jaw and my head spins but like in the inside and i feel like im fainting and my legs cant keep me up , every time this happens i run back to the car and get home . im on ssri (paroxetine) at first when i got paroxetine it was okay for 8-9 months , then i decided it was time to get only half of it and after a few months i started again feeling really anxious and i recentrly started again the entire pill but this time it doesnt feel like its working like the start . Please Help Me , im 23 years old and im losing my best years staying all day constantly afraid and i cant do nothing like before , cant even go on holidays or in clubs during night

I’m 16 and I’ve haved vertigo since I was very little I lost my vision at two which triggered me to get vertigo and now I’m half deaf after getting vertigo at the movie theaters once I can remember that time I threw up at the movie theater bathroom and the room started spinning and I couldn’t sit straight for weeks I remember being unable to eat and drink without getting the urge to puke and I couldn’t sleep on my stomach cause of it, I recently came because I just saw the Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse with my friend and with all the graphic I started getting very nauseous but I was slightly effected by it before I even saw the movie due to all the pills i took a few days ago and had to take my usual pills and the whole day I just spent puking and losing my vision while I had a headache my friend was worried for me and started getting me vitamin water because my face was super pale… I’m still a little effected by it, I feel like there’s burning in me but I can’t tell where it is though, that movie was very trippy for me I liked the storyline but it was too much graphics for me to handle… I’m so sorry for everyone who has to deal with vertigo it’s a really hard and serious thing to deal with I wish vertigo wouldn’t existed so we could all just have a normal day sending lots of love ❤

Yesterday all of a sudden I felt like I'm spinning, I thought I'm going to collapse, I just closed my eyes and after some minutes the dizziness goes away. It's my worst vertigo experience so far.

I remember I had gotten lightheaded right after my classes in school.I didn't think much of it till my third day..and oh my God It felt like hell.i felt so dizzy and I had been to the emergency room 2 times and no answer were given.When week 1 passed I was still miserable and my anxiety was just not having it.I begged my mom again to take me to the hospital and there I was brought into x-ray.Hours passed and a doctor FINALLY told me what caused my vertigo.i was relieved and I got physical therapy to help with the dizziness. I suffered with vertigo for 2 weeks and I NEVER want to experience that again.😅

IRON DEFICIENCY.....For 3 weeks my head spun like a top whenever I moved sleeping positions.

Had a dream of the iron head of a hammer...I took that to mean iron.
So I ate a few meals of meat...spinning went away 😊....I went to the chemist and bought some iron tablets one a day 250mg of ferrous sulphate.
Been 4 days now I can turn left or right in bed and all is well.

I experienced this yesterday..it was so scary I was rushed to the hospital..thru gave me meds fluids and discharged me..Mind you I was still dizzy when I was discharged..I’m now home on bed rest taking meds for my dizziness..but I’ve never been thru anything like this so it’s definitely scary

I’ve done the blood work, I’ve done the EKG - hospital assures me that nothing “life-threatening” is happening to me.

I started experiencing vertigo for roughly 4 days and on day 5, I’ve come down with the flu; this included sore throat, headache, heavy congestion my motivation to work went to 0.

Now I believe I am on my second week, the symptoms have slowly become minute after the cold has seemingly gone away, I still have congestion and I’m coughing up mucus.

Not sure if vertigo is related to the flu I just went through or something else?

I just had a really bad experience with vertigo (I think) last night, I was laying down and all of a sudden room was spinning and the walls were moving they looked like stairs of an escalator, I felt like I was on some drug trip.

I have vertigo daily, sometimes twice, no other symptoms other than pressure feeling in head and mild headaches (not the same time with vertigo though) I just went to get an MRI, hoping that theres nothing serious, I have had some very severe stress and anxiety for a few months, even spent a week in the psych ward

Just got a concussion after a partner tried to unalive me. Recovering now but the vertigo won’t stop

14 years old I’ve been having this so many times. I always thought it was symptoms of just almost fainting but that was not true at all. And what was worse is that i always got vertigo in public places. Every time i get off the bus or when i walk home from school. The most painful one was when i went to a restaurant and it hit so hard that my eyes were just trying to shut and i couldn’t even eat due to the amount of dizziness and how much my vision was going sideways like if i were falling. For me when I have an attack it's like my vision laggs behind me paired with dizziness like I'll turn my head and like a second later is when my vision will finally catch up I don't know if it's actually vertigo but that's the closest I can think of

Hi I'm Krishan Pal. I've been suffering from vertigo since 2017. It all started when I started gym on my own at the home without using proper equipments and guidance. I regret of every moment of my life why did I start working out at home own my own. I used to lift heavy weight about 70kg bench press, 110kg squats and 110kg deadlift. Even my mom tried to stop but I was advertently killing myself. Watching all these hunk guys video's Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ronnie Coleman, Jay cutler, Kevin Levrone so on bodybuilders i motivated and satisate myself. I was heading in the wrong direction all along but who doesn't want to look like these guys. Everyone praise their's bodies and I was one of them. I wanted to look like them that's the reason I started working out. I pushed hard to attain the body that i desired to. I started taking multivitamin shit Becadexamin, supradin. For a while i thought it would going to make my body like bodybuilders. I couldn't afford protein supplements so I dropped the Idea of purchasing it. I started eating rice just like bodybuilders eat as I was a vegetarian i couldn't eat chicken, fish. I also taken speed height capsules because I was ashamed of my height.

However, I have visited several doctors but there was no effective treatment and still, I have the problem. Could you please let me if you have any way of solving issues in my ears? I wish I could stop my vertigo, I've been dealing with it for 4 years now (got diagnosed at 14, I'm 18 now) and this pass week it's been really bad. Living with frequent vertigo attacks has stopped me from doing a lot with my life. I've had to drop out because I couldn't be in school because of my vertigo. I'm glad that there's other people that know how it feels to have to live with vertigo

I was just chilling at the school playing chess and suddenly my head twisted to the left and my whole body wants to go left I was also having trouble walking since everything twisted to the left i feel better right now im walking to home hope its nothing serious and i can do my boxing match on sunday normally

the past fewweeks i get real dizzy about 5x a day and i feel slight dizzy/off balance,it tends to happen with fast movement/getting out of bed/or working on car laying down. does this sound like vertigo? it lasts about 10 seconds,my dizzyness feels like extremely drunk,its not spinning around but up and down as if my eyes are twitching up and down.
