Only idiots believe iq tests measure intelligence.
ОтветитьNothing to worry any IQ test has fluctuations. If you learn the sequences presented then you will prevail better. You have to learn latin letters, the number sequences and some math to even answer. So pure intelligence is very hard to estimate due learning logical sequences. This also applies to psychological testing. You might learn what the squares mean and you answer according to previous knowledge. Similar as 'Ah this is feeling square then they want a happy face' - testing isn't always succesful.
ОтветитьI took the IQ test several years ago and got in to Mensa. My takeaway as a member is that the others in that group are extremely socially awkward. I have been to very few local meetings and went to the national conference once, just to see if Mensans from other parts of the country were more outgoing than those in my area. They weren't. Frankly, it was sad, and I now realize that a balance between IQ and personality is much more important than just a high IQ.
ОтветитьAre the questions on the real test more complicated? Cause these are just simple pattern recognition, I don't see how it can measure intelligence
ОтветитьI bet I get atleast a 65
Then who gonna keep talking 💩
It's official, I am equal to a sea ameba.... Barely.......
ОтветитьAre you from the Chronicles of Narnia?
ОтветитьBy the way, the IQ score changes through experience and time. I had 114 and emotional IQ 125 in 2001
Ответить"No Animals Were Harmed" in making this video. ❤
ОтветитьI’m going nuts.😂
ОтветитьI don't know how to feel about this, IQ tests are heavily based on logical-mathematical intellectual functions, however there are multiple forms of intelligence at least 7, I think I want to buy some books and start doing some of those exercises for fun. For sure just now I would score quite low.
Ответитьtwo cousins took iq tests when they were five my uncle made them ever since then he has bragged about them while they could care less
Ответитьfor 11.) I also got C like Tibees but slightly different reason, after each shape you get +2 branch, therefore C would make the most sense. This thinking regards the first shape to count as one branch / shape, not two. I get why D. is correct but feel like this one is leaning towards more subjectivity than the others (the whole jump to the second to third image for example is random in some sense).
ОтветитьHow come I always feel like I'm the dumbest person in the room?
ОтветитьDo you recommend an app that has these little logic tests to learn more and practice! and thanks for sharing about your shirt. i was so curious about it!
ОтветитьIQ testing is unreliable very much so
ОтветитьJust watching this video and looking at the logic behind the questions should make someone better on the IQ test.
Imagine going to college, studying a lot of math, and starting work in some place where they do and sell IQ tests. How much better would you get on these tests?
But noooooo, the IQ tests are pure genetics, and you can't study for them!!!!
IQ tests really don't mean anything. I've never taken one because i already know i would score low.

ОтветитьShe is not too bright.
All day to practice
try it without having seen it before.
Cold run and she would be under 110./
Not of the caliber to sit for Mensa IQ Test...
maybe there is just more than one way to skin a cat but q11 has got me. you seem to have made up a rule by dividing the first image into two parts. i see one angle in image one, 3 angles in image two and 5 angles in image 3. this leads me to believe that the answer is c which has 7 angles... also, q10 i seen angles as well lol, it moves 45 degrees counterclockwise but i guess seeing a hand of a clock worked out here as well. i wont be looking further into the video though until someone explains to me q11 and rather i am wrong for seeing this. i figure if im doing this bad this soon then i wont like the results for continuing anyways lol
ОтветитьIQ tests measure something very real, and they do a good job measuring it, too. As far as I know though, it is only weakly associated with success in life - there are too many other things that are also important.
ОтветитьIntelligence Quotient ... I still can't understand what they divide Intelligence by to get the quotient.
ОтветитьThis is a real disappointment, this only tests for one kind of skill. No way I would want to be part of that organization, and definitely I would not give them any money. How does this ability help someone in daily life?
ОтветитьI win’d!
ОтветитьWith the arrow analogy example there is an easier way to deduce that has less margin for error. Always take the rotational direction with the smallest angle. In this case 45d counter clockwise, then just flip the object. Margin of error significantly reduced when working with smaller numbers
ОтветитьI'll take IQ over education any day. The reason the test is formatted like that is because IQ is problem solving capability, specifically using the resources available to you. My IQ has kept me alive through trauma, abuse, and negligent doctors, having had to take my health into my own hands recently. Want something done right, do it yourself, but I am fortunate to have the IQ to do so. It has nothing to do with knowledge whatsoever, hence why you can't study for it. Anyone can get knowledge, especially nowadays, and relying on memory for things you know is a terrible idea because memory can always be faulty. I would rather have a high IQ doctor who graded C in school who knows less but is better at solving medical issues over someone who got straight A grades and thinks they know everything because they read it in school. To me, if you haven't read it in the last week, do not rely on memory alone, especially on important tasks. Obviously, this makes high IQ coupled with education the best choice, and that is where you get your top brains like Hawking. I think IQ should get at least equal respect to education. How many people actually remember everything they learned in school? Not many at all. I certainly don't. Memory is imperfect and inefficient; It's my IQ that allows me to excel at math, science, etc. I certainly am far smarter than a majority of college grads I've personally met; even if I can't rattle of "knowledge", I can figure things out way faster. Education wiothout IQ is a recipe for disaster: see politicians and lawyers.
ОтветитьWhen I clicked submit answers, the page just reloaded, I didn't see any results no matter how many times I answer
ОтветитьTook 22 IQ tests over 12 years, starting in second grade.
Scored in the top 0.0003% of people on the Stanford Bennett scale. Then just maintained that as I got tested every 6 months as part of a paid study.
Got a mensa invite after scoring the same as always during a test in front of a different instructor.
Turned it down.
They actually bothered to send a letter asking why, which the instructor gave me on my next test, 6 months later.
My answer?
"I've been homeless since I was 12. Is this club gonna feed me, or can I go back to doing this paid study before I have to be back at work?"
Lesson: None. I just felt like grumbling and challenging the status quo with a teensy bit of my life story.
Funny that an IQ test has so many pattern recognition questions. However, in society, I'm not allowed to talk about the patterns I recognize. Why do you supposed that is?

IQ improves with education so does not have anything to do with innate intelligence.
These days, in the US, women have higher IQs than men.
What about the menso test
ОтветитьEverything is upside down. Aussie IQ tests are much harder 😂
ОтветитьWeren't IQ tests originally intended to identify people with intellectual shortfalls? IQ while important, is not an indicator of future success.
Ответитьsome of these have arbitrary logics: there could be more valid logics and he who created the test arbitrarily picked one. For instance: test 12: we agree the ther must be a top right frame in the searched tile. thou what we see is that the 2 tiles on the bottom both are small and occupy the center while the first tile has a figure that occupies the whole tile - a back slash - . so the reasonable tile missing would be the B with a circle that occupies the entire tile. moreover stating that a simple back slash is a precursor of a square is a weak logic if we compare the progression made by the two edges and the triangle.
ОтветитьWould you please provide the answer key to the practice test you :) 🫶
ОтветитьEinstein failed his exams. Hendrix couldn't read music. Shakespeare couldn't spell his own name. Tesla died a pauper. There are no metrics of genius. Least of all Mensa.
ОтветитьIQ tests generally measure only logical properties and reject numerous intellectual qualities that are as important as coherent thinking used to identify patterns. Therefore, these fragmentary and biased tests should be abolished or simply ignored. Imagination, for example, is as relevant as intelligence or formal analysis.
ОтветитьFirst question… says from the right to the left🤔🤔
ОтветитьI think I'd score a zero on this.
ОтветитьIntelligence is a curse in some ways. Just as ignorance is bliss.
ОтветитьTake a hint from a geezer who knows....this is an ego trap. Nothing more.
ОтветитьYou're fine.
ОтветитьI am a PhD mathematician and professor, but my experience has been that those who boasted about their IQs usually failed to impress me. My IQ was tested in Junior High School as being quite high. This led to being placed in a 'gifted program.' Fortunately, I realized in college/ graduate school that hard work is far more important. Some purported 'geniuses' were unable to write a worthy dissertation, never being awarded a Ph.D. Some enrolled in law school 😂! Finally, psychology isn't an exact science and involves far too much speculation...
ОтветитьWheres the black version?
You know equality and diversity and all that
I've done 2 in my life. One in my teens and one in my late twenties. I've always been a bit skeptical about them as they put great value in pattern recognition and I subscribe a bit to the idea that there are multiple types of intelligence. I was good at Maths and logical puzzles and rubbish at learning languages and music and stuff like that so I always recognised (at school) that my brain was better at some things rather than others.
I'd actually be interested in doing one now (age 46) just to see how far backwards I've gone since I've not been in education for over twenty years. That's how people should use them rather than as some type of badge of honour.
I'll update below how many IQ points I've lost in 20 years if I can be bothered doing the test again. I'm guessing about 10-15 as I definitely feel a bit slower!
Some IQ tests favor people with a math background. I joined Mensa more than 50 years ago, (I am a great failure in math) They had two tests, one leaning towards math and one that was far more verbal. Some did well on both, others favored one of the other (I used to administer the tests) The nature of the organization has changed, in my opinion. Mensa used to be a group of accomplished bright people, now it is a group of smart deadbeats.
Ответитьyou may have taken one you didnt realize.
