Notice that Omaha won't tell you the USDA grade of their steaks. That's because they are charging you prime prices for choice meat. If in fact their steaks where prime meat they would be proudly advertising that fact, but they aren't, because the meat isn't prime and the government would have them in court if they tried.

I'd love to try several things from Omaha Steaks, but the costs are exorbitant.

Their meats aren't bad if compared against Kroger, Publix, ect... But when compared against a local butcher shop they definitely fall short. As far as any type of shellfish through mail order, what are you thinking???

There is nothing like their Private Reserve steaks. Every year on cyber Monday I order a chateaubriand for Christmas. It yields 6 filet mignons that you can cut with a fork if you cook it properly. The bacon wrapped fillet mignon from their Private Reserve steaks is well worth the $20 per steak.

Keep in mind, this channel PRAISES McDonald's and has little good to say about Texas Roadhouse. So, you might want to use this like you would with a Rotten Tomato score on a movie. Honestly, unless you butcher your own, you won't ever get the very best cut of meats. Even the expensive 5 Star restaurants rip you off. Sure, it might be better than the cheaper places, but it still isn't the best of the best. How do I know this? I was born and raised on the absolute BEST OF THE BEST and you won't find it anywhere else except by butchering your own. I didn't realize it until I moved away from the Farm and had to purchase and try to eat what the USDA considers the best. Just like my experience with store bought eggs. What they consider to be JUMBO is more like a Medium or Large on the Farm. Most of my own fresh eggs won't even fit in a Jumbo carton and that even includes what I call my Small ones.

My only experience with Omaha Steaks was over 20 years ago...received a shipment as a Christmas present. The meat, including the filets, was dry and largely flavorless. I know how to prepare steak but, sadly, the only way to salvage any of it was to cut it up and put it in a slow cooked stew. Perhaps the product has improved since the late 90s, but it left the impression that I would never waste my own money on an an order.

There's nothing affordable at Omaha Steaks lol. If you're lucky you might get away paying $10 a pound total cost; otherwise, you'll be paying $16 and more a pound. Plus the beef is not grass fed and grass finished, and the salmon is farmed not wild caught. They do indivudall wrap virtually all their meats making it easy to use 1 serving at a time or more; plus, they use dry ice to keep their products frozen. Their steak fries are great but expensive but you can get them as part of a package deal. Also good are their apple tartlets. Farmed shrimp in the USA are ok, but overseas farmed is not. Cholesterol IS NOT a problem in food.

The burgers are great. The breakfast sausage is excellent. The hot dogs are ok. The ribeyes were just ok. The prices are very high and disappointing when what you ordered doesn't taste very good.

Im a chef...don't buy Omaha steaks unless your stupid. Or are ok with wasting money.

You missed a category. Omaha Steaks makes an awesome Lava cake. 45 second in the microwave to hot chocolaty goodness.

“OMAHA OMAHA OMAHA” I live in OMAHA and only eat “Omaha Steaks” when someone else is serving them. Obviously it is a quality product or they wouldn’t still be in business. I prefer to shop LOCAL and being from the midwest we have several Ma/Pa butchers in the city where I can pick my cut of meat and have it cut the way I want it....OMAHA !

I always got their griller combos, steaks, franks, hot dogs, and sausages.
I'm not a fan of the sides and premade meals cause I want to have my premium meats my way :P

Spent over $300.00 on 12 0z ribeyes. Can get far superior at my local Allbertsons. Nowhere near choice cuts.

I went to a OS store here in the Houston area years ago and they wanted my mailing address. I started getting junk mail from them. If I ever go back, I will tell them they do not need that, I don't have to do that at HEB or Kroger.

Omaha Steaks are TOO expensive. I can't afford their hot dogs or even their ketchup.

Don’t buy anything from these guys. They sent a package with extra tarts and potatoes. If I wanted tarts and potatoes I would have ordered from Omaha tarts and potatoes. Customer service said they were out of steaks and couldn’t send me mine. Yet they are still taking orders for the 99 dollar box. Spend the money at your local family butcher. At least he has integrity and stands behind their product.

If you actually listen to the video, there isnt anything "worst" or even bad from the sounds of it. The live clams are one thing, but thatll depend on shipping, distance, etc. But everything else they say are "displeasing" are actually really good. They said that customers were displeased with the Italian Beef Stew, but they said it was a 3.7 stars on the website, now that (on average) means people give it 3-5 stars way more than 1-2.
Omaha steaks are great, had the filet mignon a couple days in a row and about to have their burgers for christmas dinner. If you buy their products, you need the steak seasoning too, its perfect on just about everything

Long time Omaha Steaks customer (25+ years) here and have ordered at one time or another nearly every item they stock. Your reviews are spot on...except for the filet mignon dumplings. These have to be properly cooked and are an excellent appetizer but you need the perfect dipping sauce to compliment it.

Nothing gourmet about the franks. They are just hotdogs less flavor than the cheaper guys.

I guess you can't have everything. I like their product better than some stores. I'll order again from Omaha Steaks.
