My channel just lost monetization but i was earning around $70 a day with around 700k-1mil views every 48 hours so maybe it has to do with where your channel is based also also any help to get back monetized(advice) would be great . im still getting 700k + views atm

This was really good information. Shorts have been hit or miss for me since I started my channel last month. Sometimes they would get 5000 views sometimes they would sit at 0 or less than 100 and then for some reason everything stops on my channel for a day or two, like no views, subs whatever. Like the algorithm is broken and thinks I'm spam for a few days I don't know, makes no sense. I'm really glad I came across this video, now I don't have to worry about making shorts anymore, I'll focus on my longer videos (which are only a few minutes anyway lol) but it will save me some time.

Not alot of people seem to know this but when you upload a video you can actually choose if it gets sent to sub boxs, notifies subs, or goes to subs first i found this out from a guy blowing up atm doing called Piratestudios. It helps with shorts but i wonder if, you have a channel like you mentioned where youre post both forms frequently and choose to not send the long form to sub boxes if majority comes from short form if it will push to long form viewers first, if anyone tries this let me know it would be interesting to hear :)

To do this just uncheck a box on the first step of uploading called "Publish to subscriptions feed and notify subscribers". Hope this helps people out

I really messed up 😂 I focused to much on shorts . I should have started a long form channel before I started short form but I wanted to see quick growth :/

This was HUGE sauce! I was building momentum off shorts and after seeing this my stats makes sense.

I always thought something was off when I noticed creators with over 100K-200K views on their shorts, yet barely 10-15K views on their long form content...

Those shorts attract audiences thay only want the quick hits of dopamine, so they're not going to be interested enough to sit through 8+ minutes of "boring" content.

Which means the only real way to earn from Shorts is if you've got a sponsorship, or a pinned link redirecting to a store or something.

What do you guys think?

So should gaming content creators make long form videos on one channel and shorts on a separate ‘shorts channel’? Keep them both on one channel, or just not use shorts at all?

Shorts you have to have millions and millions of views every day

I'm not a big channel yet but when I started doing shorts to boost my subs I noticed my long form views was less so I stopped posting shorts but the damage is done.

I feel shorts could be good AND bad.
Yes shorts can give views and subscribers but little to no revenue, so can longform content.
longform content performs better really only if you know what you are doing, shorts are decent way to start on a seperate channel
thats why making a shorts channel will work so much better instead of putting it on a main.

I had the same plan for my art channel and discovered the same thing you did. After I stopped posting shorts did my channel start to take off. One or the other, NOT both.

So they baited us so they can make all the videos
, and makes us make the shorts so we get no attention ?????
