Thanks so much Rachel for this excellent class! It's always difficult for a Spanish ear try to understand these kinds of reductions of spoken English. Love your videos so much! Greetings from Aregentina!
ОтветитьBom dia, eu sou do Brasil, eu assisti ao seu vídeo agora, eu achei muito legal, e gostei; eu gostaria de saber se você dá aula de inglês particular, assim, se você pode dar aula de inglês para mim, para fazer com que eu me torne fluente em inglês? E se sim, o valor mensal seria quanto? É, tem outra coisa, eu poderei receber um certificado de que eu fiz, e também concluir o curso?
ОтветитьOh my goodness you're our English Godesse which means that you gotta keep talking more about réductions I'm gonna fork out for it
Ответить" Did he?" entonces como sería d_i, o "diri".
ОтветитьIn the phrase "what did they need" it really sounds like "what they need".. how would you differentiate "what did they need" and "what do they need" in this reduced way? Does "do" reduce just like "did"?
ОтветитьAwesome!
ОтветитьBuena video preciosa, he aprendido mucho con tus videos, saludos desde México hermosa Rachel. 😃😀
ОтветитьThanks a lot about your great lesson we gotta have level regarding speaking the English language my amazing teacher
ОтветитьHi Rachael, how do Americans say "What are, whose are, where are, why are, how are..." I heard they link those words together too.
Ответитьhow pronunce dont you

ОтветитьThank a lot for your video! I study in this moment reduce forms , I’m clear now how pronounced.
I have a question about that: how I know the transcripción like used in some music? For example : Whenjarive? / when did you arrive?
When ya been?/ where have you been?
I find that expression in the English pronunciation page 100, too. but I don’t understand how make that reduction in that case. Would you help me please?
what did she say?...wʌd ʃi seɪ....sh in she isn´t dropped to avoid confusion with ¨what did he say? ¨
ОтветитьMy english is head and shoulders above than it was before I discovered your channel. I have learned a lot about American accent wich makes a bit easy for me to understand native speakers.
Thank you so much to help us out
I am a bit late but I want to say thank u for this video ❤️
ОтветитьThank you so much! 👍
ОтветитьI heard in Texas people say watcha doin' instead of saying what are you doing is a slang or dialect spoken in Texas. I hear people say I ain't gonna go nowhere.
Ответитьありがとうございます!
Ответитьtnx alot for teaching us
ОтветитьI listen you and some other and there is some difference between you and other some time I confuse do I should listen difference or only one
ОтветитьAs someone who's interested in phonetics,I still wonder the principle of this kind of reduction rather than only this phenomenon.
ОтветитьAwesome
ОтветитьPlease, I want to know if these words are pronounced the same" quite, quiet" and " line, lion".
ОтветитьHello Rachel! I have a question. Is there any difference between "What did they do?" and "what do they do?" when speaking fast and contracted like that? Thank you!
ОтветитьLove your lessons so much . Thanks a lot.
Ответитьyou are the best Rache! great
ОтветитьLool jeez I'm struggling to even recognize whether I saw "whud" or just drop the did.
ОтветитьHi Rachel. I really miss these videos you used to do. I hope you can start doing more videos like this one on reduction of auxiliary verbs such as am, is, are, was, were, do, does, did, have, has, had, will, won't, would, wouldn't, could, couldn't, should, and shouldn't in combination with nouns, pronouns and question words.
ОтветитьThank you 🙏

ОтветитьHi teacher,

ОтветитьHi Rachel!
This reduction, ‘what’d’ doesn’t happen in present tense ?!
Hello , Rachel . I wanna thank u from my bottom of my heart for ur effort , and I wanna ask what is the difference between What did and What do when they are reduced , do they have the same sound ?
Ответитьgood late , I am Antonio Amilton Ferreira from Brazil , City Campinas . I know riaz quadrada de 1000000 =1000 iqual 10^6 = 10^3 outra raiz quadrada de 10^270 =10^135 for you thank you
ОтветитьGreetigs from colombia.good explanatoon.all my doubtful are clear now.
Ответитьwhat a language !
ОтветитьI needed this
ОтветитьAhh, di is taken away,so the d sound of “did” will be linked to next word, right ?
ОтветитьDidn't you say that the last word of a question, unless it's a yes/no question, is usually unstressed?
ОтветитьI took the TOEFL eons ago but don’t remember reductions being used in their tests. Do they? I would think it will so hard for test takers to understand it. Rachel, how would classify the English used in a test like TOEFL?
