I just was paralyzed after reading the title and being afraid the German "unterhaltungssoftwareselbstcontrolle" cut content... Before I realized that DE doesn't have to mean Deutsch but could also mean definitive edition...

Thank you for your great content(even if I watch it years later) keep on the good work for this part of my childhood and my life now.

really dont like this poligon graphic, i preffer a lot AOE2 DE ....

I still can't believe how shit the definitive edition looks. Shocking, every year I check thinking they would fix it.
Oh and your focus on zoom out is ridiculous. Zoom out is infinite if you know how to manipulate the basic and accessible code

well, I have to say – as a giant, giant (new) Age 3 DE fan – that the ship battles FEEL way cooler in the original. that "picking apart" you mention that was dialed back or removed entirely for DE –– astonishing. why take that out? the battles seem to feel less dynamic, less intense, less fun to look at. things aren't flying everywhere like they seem to in original.

I've played AoE III DE for about 160 hours. for me that's a colossal amount of time to spend on a single game. I may be a Casual, but I knows what I likes, and I likes those ships blowing all apart like that. is it unrealistic? sure, but so's DE. I want the original III now. dammit.

Can i play this game with gt 420 ? If i set graphic at lowest ?

I cannot believe AOE 4 is not this good, how do you bring out a newer game that looks worse than the one before, AOE 3 DE looks the best and has amazing detail

The original vertion still looks beautiful.

the removal of the OG's painterly bloom and light effects is such a killer for me. i get that everyone wants maximum image clarity these days but i much prefer the older, more stylized aesthetic to the newer, sterile one.

Only age 2 DE is worth buying so far

I have played both of it, and i don't really like the graphics on DE, too sharp and crisp for me, the graphic on the classic is more enjoyable, even Anno 1800 graphics (which heavier than aoe3de) is more comfortable for me to play than Aoe3DE, eventough there are some noticable change than the classic Aoe3 which may like or dislike it, yes both game run well on i5 2500 and NVS 315

A lot of things been changed to this game, you can't run it on Windows 7 or 8 any more. They've changed units characteristics a lot. Every special unit they've degraded. So it's quite a different play now... Of course, they are not gonna tell you this, until you buy it and discovered how crappy some units became

I feel like a lot of the folks complaining about how they don’t like the DE graphics as much are revealing the fact that they haven’t played the two back-to-back… I love the DE, it’s beautiful

paid 20$ for the definitive edition and pretty far enjoying it, but damn it runs poorly on my i5 8400 and gtx 1060, on ultra the constant freezes make it unplayable, i can only run it on low..

It looks as if the Definitive Edition was made back in 2009 not 2020

The ships destruction is definitely a downgrade now they just explode and fall into the water like falling through air. Looks very stupid and jarring, the old animation they would break apart and actually sink

AoE3 DE is way worse than the non-definitive edition. Especially if you just plan on playing it single player.

Always felt AoE III was still modern enough... did we really need this? Especially before Age of Mythology DE?

I have to say i really prefer the style of the old graphics now that i have also played DE. The crispness of DE just takes away some of the feeling...

The water reflections and overall lighting of the game was better on the original. It's a little bitter sweet this definitive edition.

You should've compared different character models by zooming in on them and putting them side by side.

Ah early 2000's, where bloom was all the rage and every surface was like a mirror.

The change in ship destruction animation is disappointing.
I would have been happier if they released the game with original graphics but with 2 civs, maps and balance.

Ensemble studios had a special taste for Nature and landscapes which this new version is totally lacking. Swedish programmers are just not able to make it
