V8 might be the move ngl
ОтветитьI've just been reading about how problematic recovering a Defender is, if it's in a truly offroad situation. Its owner's manual is very enlightening.
"The vehicle should not be towed on all four wheels and should not be recovered with the front or rear wheels suspended. Doing so can result in serious transmission damage. The method for recovery and/or transportation of the vehicle is on a transporter or trailer designed for that purpose."
"The recovery agent must activate the transmission park release before recovery commences. The procedure for activating the transmission park release is covered in a separate publication for service personnel."
If you don't, the following happens:
"If Neutral (N) is selected and the engine is then switched off, the transmission automatically selects Park (P) after 10 minutes has elapsed. If the transmission park release mechanism has not been activated and the vehicle is being towed, serious damage to the transmission will result."
"If the vehicle cannot be recovered via the correct method, the vehicle can be towed on all four wheels for a short distance."
" Do not tow the vehicle for more than 50 km (30 miles). Do not exceed 50 km/h (30 mph). Towing for a greater distance or at a higher speed may result in serious damage to the transmission."
So you can only go offroad to places that are within 50-ish km of access to a flatbed truck. ... but you can't even go that far unless you've learnt how to activate the transmission park release.
" Only tow the vehicle in a forward direction with all four wheels on the ground. Towing in a reverse direction, or with only two wheels on the ground, will cause serious damage to the transmission."
What if pulling it out backwards is the only access to where it's stuck?
" Do not tow the vehicle if the transmission cannot be set in Neutral (N)."
"Do not tow the vehicle if the rear electronic differential has failed in the locked position."
Crikey. With electrics that shut down the whole vehicle at the drop off a hat, how on earth does all THAT make it a good choice for serious offroading? Australia? Any continent except Europe? Hmm...
Love this colour
ОтветитьThe back seat does fold flat, just pull up the cushion and remove
ОтветитьCan the rear seats be completely removed?
ОтветитьWorthless 10min. WTF not real test? No backseat? Just driving on grass and... Suuuuucks!
Ответитьnoiiice
ОтветитьI have an old Defender 110 and i’m going to buy a new Defender 110 as a every day family car - perfect combo…
ОтветитьNot complete review
ОтветитьNo manual gearbox 😴😴😴😴😴😩😩😩😩
ОтветитьBut where? Where did the fork go James??? JAMES?!?!
ОтветитьIt has inferior approach and departure angles to the old 90 and lack of solid axles means it will not perform as well as the old Defender offroad. It's a nice car but its more like a Discovery 6. Also the load space is basically a joke compared to the old 90. Let's not even talk about the wheels, good luck in sand when you can't deflate the tyres is all I will say.
ОтветитьThey're really nice, comparatively luxurious, and honestly very capable off road, but the BIG knock has been reliability, for decades. It's said you should adopt a qualified mechanic if you buy one. Has that been improved at all?
ОтветитьLiterally looks like a toy
ОтветитьYou guys are good and I always watch you but you focus and picture yourselves more than the cars you present? do you mean it???
ОтветитьIf the rear seats folded flat, and it had a sliding wall to sepperate the cargo area from the cabin.
ОтветитьReally torn between the 90 and the 110… I prefer the looks of the 90, but the ease of getting passengers in the back is a pain. The room back there is honestly no different once you’re back there (sat in both). It’s the tiny trunk of the 90 where the biggest sacrifice is made. I guess for big hauls you can flip rear seats down…. But a long road trip with 4 passengers and you’d barely have room for luggage. Tough call.
ОтветитьStop complaining about the gauge cluster Thomas. You finally have a legitimate excuse for speeding 😎😎
ОтветитьThe Rover tows 2x as much. Ughh. I wish the jeep and bronco would tow 5,000 at least even 4500
ОтветитьLove how people are tryn to go after the wrangler and failing lol land rover and Ford just doesn't have what the jeep wrangler has.. style, aftermarket, comfort, history etc ...
ОтветитьThomas just wasn't having that BMI joke today 😂
ОтветитьBut the more I look at this defender tomorrow like it
ОтветитьHave they improved their reliability because the one that the "fast lane car" has had nothing problems.
ОтветитьYou lads know that 'mound' is also a slang term for a woman's pubic hair right?
ОтветитьThese will never hold up. A very unrelabile vehecle. A very unrelible brand.
ОтветитьThey really ruined the Defender style...a shame.
ОтветитьI hear the quality issues are terrible
ОтветитьIf your goal in life is to say to other drivers,"look at me and what I've got/can afford (leased)". I have watched many Ford Bronco videos and the Bronco looks just as cool and quite frankly, somewhat better. Great ending, btw.😋😎
Ответить'It never works properly'...so pretty much like every Defender model from 1951. 😂
ОтветитьI change my way. I sold all my Land Rovers and bought an 2021 Isuzu Dmax LSM - cost effective, reliable, cap price service, 6 year warranty etc
ОтветитьAnother overpriced parking lot cruiser. Should have kept it basic like the last model.
ОтветитьI’ve changed and accepted it and my family has had 4 defenders spanning from 1997 - 2016 model year with one currently. It’s cool this thing
ОтветитьBeautiful vehicle.... Unfortunately I watched TFL and their awful experience with this new defender.
ОтветитьThis SUV is AMAZING………. For a Discovery.
Not a real Defender. LR could take notes from Mercedes and Toyota
Overpriced , unreliable piece of crap.
Ответитьso handsome car and men
ОтветитьHair Dressers Land Rover, not a proper land rover, just anothet Chelsea Tractor to pickup Cappuccino
ОтветитьHmm reliability? Ford Bronco probably better.
ОтветитьWill never ooze the coolness of the original defender
ОтветитьLet me give you an update: the Landrover "extra" Defender comes with a big V8....
ОтветитьSurprised it didn't break down during your filming guys! Haha
ОтветитьAnd yet, the RAV4 will be on the road ~8 years longer than this silly thing while using 1/2 the fuel, and accomplishing the exact same task of suburban commuting.
Ответить“It just oozes cool” except it doesnt. The actual defender does
ОтветитьAs a expert on mounds, that was a classy mound
ОтветитьIt just oozes quality problems...worst SUV purchase anyone can make
ОтветитьNo option for manual transmission? Nope. LR believe manuals are 'just daft' these days and a manual transmission just 'isn’t efficient'. The transmission and e-turbo systems, which helps the Defender’s hybrid system to recuperate energy, need regulating by complicated computer systems. Other reasons apparently include meeting government safety and environmental requirements and to allow for the seating plan.
ОтветитьTerrible. Nothing really about the car. No one sat in the back to review packaging, no real details, no real review. Just a boring video of you two talking, talking, talking heads. Will pass on your reviews in the future.
