Tighnari OLD vs NEW English Voice Comparison (Elemental Skill, Burst, Idle) | Genshin Impact 3.6

We have to admit, the old voice is just better. I know, I know, the actor is a criminal, but that doesn't override the fact that his type of voice is superior to the new one. It sounds more natural; the other one sounds like an older person trying to force a younger voice. Anyway, it's not just the voice, but the intention. The old voice sounded bold and audacious, while the new one sounds like a ninja turtle. Let's hope Hoyoverse gives the actor more time to study the lines and replace them.

Old VA's voice was definitely more suitable for the character but oh well..

Such a shame, the old voice is leaps and bounds better then the new one. i literaly dont know and dont care what the VA did to get his lines replaced, i still prefer it over the new one, it just fits better whit the image of a mentor, while the new one would be a rookie student.

Am I the only one who thinks the new VA is way better? He adds so much more emotion to the lines. The old one sounds so dead and boring to me… the new one has the Tighnari sass we all know and love, and the VA adds a nerdy touch to his voice which I think fits very well for Tighnari’s character

honestly I far prefer the new va. old va makes tighnari sound sort of … sick? that’s just my opinion, though

I didn't feel like the old voice fit Tighnari at all. Didn't feel foresty. New one is much better. Also has some of the aloofness of the lines represented in the voice. Shame about the reason it had to change, but it's a good change.

I truly miss the old voice. Don't play Tighnari as much after the change. I don't care whatever the VA did, the voice is the voice, not the person. This voice for me is always just Tighnari.

After hearing the side by side I really do like the new VA better. It does sound more anime though which everyone seems to think means childish but it’s not and it really fits the fantasy theme u see in alot of fantasy anime’s. At first I was torn bc his burst voice lines were a bit stale? But they sound already similar enough and I like the spin Gordon put on tigh more and good riddance to that old creep. It’s a shame tho Elliot had a great voice if he didn’t use his power for evil..

the new "i hear everything" voice line is such a downgrade. anything else, perfect

New voiceover fits for combat situation but for personal dialogues, old one is better especially of the new feels so cringed. (Can't even adapt character dialgue fitting with new voice lol)

fighting between Old vs New english voice, how about trying JP voice instead? It's awesome imo, & the best of all, we can avoid MISTRANSLATION that causes wrong meaning in english localization (There's a lot).

But well, you got to understand Japanese to really realize the mistranslations though.

New Tighnari sounds SOOOOOO much better

I miss the old voice, it gaves Tignari a wise tone, but I agree they had changed the voice actor, what a nasty guy.

I personally think the old va just sounded worse. The tones were more muted, showed less emotion, and generally didn't fit how a real character would act. The new VA throws in more of those little rises and falls to emphasize different details more, which is closer to how I see a real person talking.

i love the new VA so much more!! it doesn’t quite match the same tone of the original, but honestly, i think zachary’s take on tighnari is much more suited to his character.

also, i found that his lines in the archon quest (where he’s speaking more casually) are really well done!!

People who misunderstand "I like the old voice" as "I defend the voice actor actions", are the same entitled Karen/Ken idiots who tell you to "fuck off" for something it's not your fault.

I miss his old voice, even though it's good that Elliot is gone. But a friend of mine once said that this VA sounds more like the kind of person who would mouth off to the 2nd Fatui Harbinger, and I agree. His combat lines are also way better.

I feel like most of the people who say the old VA was better only say that because they were used to it more.

The new VA feels sassier and more enthusiastic, I have to say I really like his spin on the character!
I loved the "tired of everyone" attitude the old interpretation had though.

the new voice feels very cartoony , it's not necessarily a bad thing , but for me it feels a bit forced and out of character. i pulled for tigh because he was sassy but oh well. better with a less fitting but not-belonging-to-a-predatory-pervert voice over.

I know about the things with the old voice actors, but the new ones really don't perform well.
Not suitable for the role, and lack emotion.
If we have to replace the old actors, there are definitely better choices available.

imo i like the new va more, its much cleaner and you can actually understand what hes trying to say like when he did the elemental skill in the old one it sounded like he said "one with the farest" but in the new one you can actually hear "one with the forest"

It may be bc I got to know him with the new VA, but I like the execution a lot more. Same with the vocal color! He sounds more sassy and lively which goes well with Tighnari's character
