I thought i wasn't gonna be able to tell siht but i swear i got em right
ОтветитьGreat video! Thank you! God bless :)
ОтветитьI liked the Affinity sound overall. To each his own !
ОтветитьIm a beginner and playing a Harley Benton SC450 plus. The other day I played a fender player plus Nashville strat and immediately fell in love with that guitar. It actually made my playing sound beter and even easier. So putting money in the savings account to get that guitar at the end of this year. Thanks for making this vid. Enjoyed it.
ОтветитьI own a Player Telecastor and play it often, but really I heard not much difference in the quality of their sound. And all three had the Telecastor tones to my ears.
ОтветитьThe Classic Vibe sounded way better than the other two, imo. Definitely a fuller sounding guitar.
ОтветитьVery meticulous, thorough, serious and yet fun video. I enjoyed trying to guess which is which in the blind tone challenge. I was surprised. Thank you for the thorough video! I love the Squier Affinity so much, so far the most favorite sound I've found. Looking heavily in its direction for my first electric guitar.
Ответить3 mins in. Y is by far my favourite. I think z is the fender, it sound most like a telly with the sizzle. But Y has an awesome tone.
ОтветитьThis is very boring video to me
ОтветитьI have a CV Tele, and had a Mex Player Tele, and Mex Player Strat. The Mex Player 1’s are objectively not double the price, better than the CV line. Some are better than others, due to quality control, but never worth double the price. I sold both of them and kept my CV, because I connected with it. It’s way more resonant acoustically, than a lot of higher end Fenders I’ve played. It weighs 7.7lbs. My Mex player Tele was 8.6lbs. Did a couple small mods like brass barrels, new nut, triple tree for that pesky break angle on the the G. Aso sanded back the gloss neck, and polish the frets every other 3rd or 4th string change, so it’s lightning fast.
ОтветитьDidn't guessed which was which... but I slightly prefered the z in the blind test, it had a little magic thing in the neck clean pickup that the other ones didn't have and was overall slightly more equilibrate sound. But all that was very subtle. In second, X for the neck pickup, a little more bass, but in a band context I'm not sure it would be a good thing, but the Bridge pickup of the Y with the top boost channel was really great!!!! But all that can be because of the pickup eight, don't know if you checked that well. I have a classic player 50's road worn, grat guitar, very happy with it.
ОтветитьJeremy Piven saying Buttercream,Buttercream over and over to Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker😂!
ОтветитьThe classic vibe always punches well above its weight class. For half the price of the fender mex.
ОтветитьCould it be that the real difference is playability , quality of parts and ego?
Or am I deaf ? Did think Z was a tad clearer .
Fantastic review! I was able to guess all three correct, but mostly because the Affiniry sound was obviously not as good as the other two-muddy and lack of clarity. I really like the sound of the CV. The Player sound just that little bit better-more open. I have a CV Starcaster in blonde that I love. The gloss on the CV is a bit much. The CV Tele seems to have a similiar finsh. I used some 3M microfine sanding sponge to knock the gloss off the neck-much better. I think I might do the same to the fingerboard. I don't have tons of money to throw at guitars so I'm a huge Squier fan.
ОтветитьI like the price of the affinity, the look of the classic vibe and the sound of the player series.
ОтветитьI bought a 79 dollar Glarry, did a setup and installed Bill Lawrence Micro Coil pickups. It’s a great guitar. $180 all in. Next comes a custom rattle can paint job.
ОтветитьClassic vibe for sound, body grain, neck shape, for me
Player for switches & pots
Fender
ОтветитьI am really digging your reviews🎉
Classic Vibe all day long.
That butterscotch tele is nice. Definitely better than the butterscotch tele.
ОтветитьThis was a great review...
ОтветитьDont be afraid to just say what is better and why. We need more people that are not in the "everyone is a winner" camp.
ОтветитьI got the Affinity, but I was wrong with the other two. I thought the Classic Vibe sounded the best. The Fender sounded good, just not quite as full as the CV to my ears. The Affinity sounded BAD.
ОтветитьThey all sound exactly like the Amp they are plugged into.
Ответитьcant get the stink off
ОтветитьGreat video Landon. Thanks for taking the time to do this ! Even with the new Player II series, they STILL won't put a bone nut on them.
ОтветитьZ, Y, then X
ОтветитьI like the mellow sound from the Y Squire, I can't believe it, many are saying the hi end Squire's are giving a better sound than cheap Fender's one, and after this , I agree at least in this case.
Ответитьwow - i liked the classic vibe best yes!!- I have to wonder if it is the more mass/weight?
Ответитьthe foil on back of p-gard is useless on a tele
Ответитьpretty easy to tell , affinity x sounded thin , vibe y sounded best by far and mex z was pretty good too but less depth than vibe
the affinity is worth it to buy used for $150-200 NOT New , neither the Mex new but $450-500 used is OK , the Vibe is worth to buy new at $550 and you rarely find used because folks keep them , whereas the others have lots used for 1/2 retail
X, Y, Z are butterscotch
ОтветитьThanks for doing the blind test. It stops people from listening with their eyes. To me, there was very little difference between the 3. What difference is there might mostly be down to different output levels of each guitar's pickups, easily change. I guess you can chose for looks and playing feel.
ОтветитьAwesome video, I just got a lefty affinity (yeah, impossible to find lefty classic vibe here on brazil, not even on a irreasonable price). I'm pretty satisfied with the tones you showed, tbh I thought the tones would be bad, but they're great, not classic vibe great, but I liked it more than the Player, I'm happy it'll fit my style.
ОтветитьZ stood out for sound
ОтветитьI bought a 2017 classic vibe from an estate sale a couple of years ago. I am really surprised at the quality. I like the neck finish, but I don't get sweaty when I play it. Bonus that the bridge was upgraded to brass. It is an amazing $250 guitar.
ОтветитьEven inexpensive guitars are very useable today. When I started playing in 1962 a cheap guitar was really cheap and almost unplayable. The intermediate guitars were Kay, Silvertone, Harmony and Airline. All the Fenders and Gibsons were USA made and expensive compared to income in those days. Wonderful music world we live in today.
ОтветитьIn the blind test I thought guitar X was the Fender, mellower and warmer something I think Alnico pickups had a reputation for. I thought Z was brittle and tinny sounding so I thought it was cheap ceramic pickups. But I’m primarily a bass player so what do I know
ОтветитьI love my Affinity. So much so, I can't justify paying more for a 'better' one. In fact, it adds to the fun!
ОтветитьI tested all three guitars for almost two hours in the store, but as soon as I picked up the Fender, my choice was made. Because of the neck, unquestionably the best of the three, a "highway",as we say in French ;)
I'm still seduced after 18 months of almost daily use, even if the factory setting could have been better (high E string too close to the bottom of the neck).
Dude why play these little dumb games on which one is what. It’s stupid. People are watching your video trying to become informed so they can make the correct decision when buying a new guitar.
Don’t be a little girl that plays little games. You’re a man. Act like one.
Thanks man. Appreciate the effort
ОтветитьY was my pick
ОтветитьI’ve played the affinity. It didn’t seem as thick as yours. it felt light and just right. I have a strat that’s awesome but was looking for the playability of a tele. What do yup think about Micheal Kelly 53
ОтветитьI guessed the most expensive the easiest
Ответитьr/guitarcirclejerk favourite guitars
ОтветитьLove your videos and the humor makes it fun. Thanks for the review of these three very in-depth. I did guess the sound comparisons correctly well sort of the first two sounded almost the same to me the player in my opinion sounded much better more clarity and ring. I have a 40th anniversary Squire tele that I really like after a couple mods. I installed a Fender 62 neck pickup and a 4 way switch it really improved the sound. Thanks again great job!
ОтветитьI thought the 2nd was the Fender. I was quite surprised that it was the cv as I thought it was the beat of all 3. I have a cv 60s ordered and this makes me even more excited about getting it.
