...do you acsualy think this is better than the regular ventilators ant such :/ it just looks weird... and not effective :/ unles u dont have any other cooling systems it will just heat up and on a hot day... just a waste of hardware :/ but fun to experiment :)

there are a couple of things that should have been changed. if i were you, i would have used mineral water...its clear and it also doesn't conduct electricity. also, you should have put a couple of fans in the case. you need to circulate the oil around the case for the best cooling. you also could have put the PSU in the oil, it would look a lot better. Just add a bubbler and some fake plants and you're set to go lol.

eisely oild doesnt conduct electricity and CPU can't heatall the 30 liters of oil.

looool, mineral water conduct electricity BETTER then normal tap water. The minerals (ions) in the water is what makes the electron flow possible. 100% water, which i bet you've never seen actually tastes nothing like "water" at all, i drank some. But then again, battery water is in my understanding also non electric conducting. I dont know if it's 100% or 99,999% water or just deionized. Nonetheless, try using battery water and avoid getting any kind of shit in it. And the fans you spoke of is+

would be kool if the cpu could heat the 30 liters of oil , then i could make chips while using the pc

Ответить

@bat7j - 13.09.2009 22:26

Cool, but maybe continuous work can heat the oil afterall?

Ответить
@bat7j
@bat7j - 13.09.2009 22:33

Maybe you'll need something a lot more powerful than CPU in order to heat 30 liters of oil?!

Oil doesnt conduct electricity, its like saying "What are you gonna mix air and ur components togehter?" OIL IS SAFER THEN AIR COOLING, its ALOT easier to make a arc in air, then in oil

It would have been better to use a water-based cooling system and use oil in that rather than water. Just use a pump that can move through the viscosity of oil and hey presto.

@shankman2000 The only things you can't put in it is the CD/DVD reader and the hard drive. Everything can go in it besides that, do to the oil not being conductive.

@1964mm - 22.08.2010 16:11

@Kelo60 I'm pretty sure you can put those in if you place it above the surface of the oil. If you don't put the hard drive or the CD/DVD Drive then how are you supposed to use it? Are you just going to boot to the BIOS everytime? That's what he did in the video, he left the power supply above the surface of the oil.

Ответить
@Kelo60
@Kelo60 - 23.08.2010 01:53

@1964mm You don't put it in the oil. It's still hooked up to the PC. Just not submerged in the oil.

Ответить
@Toastmaster_5000
@Toastmaster_5000 - 30.09.2010 04:43

@lukebob1 i don't think so. you can store vegetable oil in their normal containers, unrefrigerated, for weeks, even over a year and it doesn't go bad. fryers at restaurants sometimes keep their oil until it starts smoking, which can be a long while. i wouldn't worry about it. olive oil might be a different story

This song is badass! For years Ive been wondering the name of it. It sounds so familiar and possibly inspired by the PINK FLOYD's opening song in "The Wall" album, the 'where the Tigers break Free!"
\\Edited for grammar issues, thanks autocorrect (sarcasm).
