good effort with AC not being one of your strengths. can see why you were told not to put it up, espeically in canada a person can't buy r134a in the parts store like you can in the US. r134a and r1234yf don't put holes in ozone layer, that's ODP (ozone depletion potential and older refrigerants like r12 and r22). R134a and r1234yf refrigerants have 0 ODP and some GWP. globalol warming "potential". you don't use a vacuum pump to evacuate refrigerant, you use a recovery machine and an empty cylinder to recover refrigerant to. Basically the world won't end and you aren't depleting ozone if that refrigerant didn't make it's way back into a cylinder for reclamation. your next goal: vacuum with line from vacuum pump to service port and a micron gauge on the other service port. But all in all, I think working on anything on a PT cruiser has got to be a punishment in the 6th or 7th circle of hell. A bit better test when you have a clutch cycling switch at the accumulator and high pressure cut-off switch at compressor is... feed the clutch ground and +12v. In many cases, the AC signal from control on dash goes to HP cutoff (normally closed) then to VCM or PCM. The clutch cycling switch (or low pressure switch) sends a ground to VCM/PCM when pressure is above low cutoff. Then the VCM/PCM will ground the clutch relay's coil. The relay contacts will send +12v to clutch. Not sure if you checked this offline before going at replacing the clutch or if you checked that the clutch was getting +12V from the relay, could have been the high pressure cutoff connector you said was buggered up that kept the clutch from engaging. During normal operation the HP switch is closed, so a break in the wire keeps the clutch from energizing.
ОтветитьFirst time viewer and really enjoyed this tutorial. Liked, subscribed and hit the notification bell.
ОтветитьI think you rolled snake eyes Sir. Nice job. One question though I'm a/c 609 certified never seen that 134a substitute. Is it compatible with 134a or used exclusively by itself? Thanks for the information. 🙌 In the US we can buy 134a under 30lbs. Over 30lbs need license.
ОтветитьScrew all of this. Get a old V8 wrangler take body off and put pt cruiser body in it's place. Drive bolts into the body into the frame. Pt cruiser would be cool as a V8 powered four wheel drive
ОтветитьI was told not to watch this video.
ОтветитьBeing in Canada simply waiting awhile will fix your AC.
ОтветитьDear sir i felt your pain but i also enjoyed your sense of humor.
ОтветитьSure it was empty 😉 😜
ОтветитьI had a GT Turbo. I loved that car until my mechanic told me they were infamous for blowing up around 70,000 miles. I sold it and it blew up at 70,326. Lucky day
Ответитьthanks
ОтветитьExcellent explanation, but the most is that you are on the moode to fix that AC, regardless difficulties. GOOD JOB. Thank you
ОтветитьBroken thing is most likely a temperature sensor
ОтветитьConsidering how difficult the compressor was to remove, I think I would have energized the clutch at the clutch before doing all that work to confirm it was dead.
ОтветитьYOU have no idea what your doing and I agree you shouldn't have posted this. SMH🙄
ОтветитьYour humor is awful... I love it! Subscribed.
ОтветитьMy only complaint is that you utilize the term delicious, outside of that great job
ОтветитьBeing a previous owner of a PT (pure trash) i can tell you that the best way to fix your cruiser is to take it to the junk yard and leave it there 😊 also kick yourself in the arse for being dumb enough to have ever owned one! hope this helps! 😁
ОтветитьHow did you determine if there is enough oil in the system? (PAG oil)
ОтветитьThat vacuum gauge would be a nice tool to use on first dates to see if she is worth your time...When you find a girl that can max out the vacuum gauge she's a keeper...great video
ОтветитьAfter fast forwarding to 5 minutes I realized you should show the jargons for real
ОтветитьFunny enough, -40°C is also -40°F.
Thanks for the video!
John Kerry owns private jets and is a lying crook. No one will tell me what to do with my property…I’ll do what I want with my car cat converter or refrigerant.
ОтветитьYou didn’t check the ac clutch relay
Ответить🎵🎶 Oh what fun 🎶 it is to have 🎶 a PT Cruser 🎶 and fix it yourself 🎵
BREAKING NEWS:
Man suicides by shooting himself in the head 6 times then reloads and continues to shoot himself in the head because after he fixed his PT Cruiser Ac, it didn't want to work again. 😵💫💥🔫
That dude told you not to do it cause your fucing his business, I DIY fuc that shit i ain't paying no one to do my AC when you can buy all the equipment cheaper then them doing the job and DIY
ОтветитьI drained the radiator and removed the fan just because I have big hands, was very helpful because the ac bolt would not come out, had to get in there to remove it, easily dropped the ac from the bottom and installed the new one the same way 1-minute process
ОтветитьThe ozone layer thing is a hoax.
ОтветитьThat was probably the most entertaining a/c video I have watched. Love the humor and you handled the PT cruiser well. Never was vehicle that I enjoyed working on less that a PT cruiser, maybe a prowler but they are so close it doesn't matter.
Ответитьsupport the engine with a jack and remove the engine mounting adjust the engine up or down to get more clearance for the compressor screw you don't have to remove the front panel
ОтветитьBetter than a mission impossible movie. Thanks. Q. When filling, should you hold can upright to fill with gas rather than liquid?
ОтветитьSTOP THEN! Don't show this, people will die!!
ОтветитьTook my car to AAA Auto Repair Center on Tully Rd in San Jose to repair the air conditioning. They told me that the compressor was bad (which I had already figured out since it had a frozen clutch..couldn't push it in by hand while engine was off). I know compressors cost about $300 but they were going to charge me over $1500 to replace it. Then, later, they called me and said they would have to also replace the receiver drier and that would cost another $400 or so. So, after I went back to pick up the car, I looked under the hood and saw a nice shiny new compressor but couldn't see the receiver drier until I got home. Turns out that the receiver drier is like welded to the side of the condenser and has a plug on the bottom that needs to be removed in order to insert a cloth-like cylindrical shaped tampon-looking "drier" that takes moisture out of the system. That's all they did...and they charged me over $1900. The drier "tampon" can be bought at auto stores for from $15 to $35. And the compressor can be bought for about $300. My car is a 2014 Hyundai Tucson. Once you take off the splash panel under the engine of the car and look up at the bottom of the "condenser", on the driver's side of the vehicle, you can see and access the "receiver drier" plug to remove an then to insert the "tampon". I couldn't drain the coolant into a collector before removing those parts so I had to have all this work done by "professionals". Funny, not, how the government will fine you big bucks if you let the coolant escape which helps contribute to global warming but they have no problem sabotaging gas pipelines like the Nordstream pipeline which belched tons of gas into the atmosphere for many days! It's no wonder we are having high, record, temperatures. Wars don't help either. Same thing happened after WWI and WWII..record high temperatures worldwide! Thanks a lot Putin...you son of a b...!!! Putin needs a "b" to the head!!!
ОтветитьThat is the ambient temperature sensor on the grill
ОтветитьLmao “in the bowels of this turd” that’s a chrysis for you
ОтветитьThanks for the video, you took a different route altogether, might have tried pumping a little air if not nitrogen to see if clutch on compressor engaged, also to check for leaks with bubble solution if okay, evacuate and recharge but old habits die hard and you chose to run a long mile but it takes years to train to make a meal out of recharge or to make a life out of any profession. Good luck.
ОтветитьChrysler 😅😅 who's still fall for this...couldn't make a sell without immigrants.
Better get down hands and knees to thanks immigrant
I know the trouble some engineers designed with cars, trucks that made repair next to impossible, good video. If you ever charge again rotate the can while charging and maybe drive over the border and get the real R134A if it's not too far.
ОтветитьThanks. My A/C runs humid air into the cab so i suspect R/Dryer type issue and renewal. I was considering a DIY re-gas but can't really be arsed after this. I'll replace the R/D Unit and get a pro for the gassing-up. Cheers.
Ответитьwhen you fill your AC always turn the engine on and switch the AC to max BEFORE you connect the AC refill can....
ОтветитьThen don't do it
ОтветитьI have very little gas left in the system and want to drain the last gas (134a) out from the AC before i remove it. By the time i dont have oppertunity to take it to the dealership.
How do i release the last gas out in the free air?
Do i just open the 2 valves on the compressor?
Do i release the air from the HP or the LP hose first?
Really hope someone will answer me😊
So what if you jump the switch and the compressor kicks on where do you go from there
Ответитьthat "broken" thing behind the grill, looks like to me, a ambient temp sensor.
ОтветитьA timing belt and a AC compressor on a PTSD Neon? Wow, you really did double that cars value.
Just kidding.
You quadrupled its value!
I have a 2014 mercedes c250 sport ac light flashes 3 times then it turns off now its blowing hot air
ОтветитьCanooks are so far behind in engine repair
ОтветитьMisleading thumbnail
ОтветитьAnother thing, always lube a/c o rings with refrigerant oil. If they roll , they leak.
Ответить
