Young Women in Leadership (YWiL) T&T - Interview with ParlAmericas Director General, Alisha Todd

Alisha shares more about the CIWiL/ParlAmericas partnership and the Young Women in Leadership (YWiL) programme.

YWiLTT is a national leadership programme that brought together 58 young women from across Trinidad and Tobago. The young women leaders participated in an immersive training programme on transformational leadership, gender equality, inclusive decision-making, and parliamentary processes. The workshop culminated with a special all Young Women in Leadership Parliamentary Sitting to debate a motion on March 9 2020, at the Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

#YWiLTT was held as part of celebrations commemorating International Women’s Day on March 8.

The Caribbean Women in Leadership (CIWiL) and ParlAmericas in partnership with the Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago will be hosting the first-ever Young Women in Leadership (YWiL) Conference in Trinidad and Tobago on March 5, 6, and 9, 2020.

A CIWiL/ParlAmericas joint project, “Strengthening Women’s Political Leadership in the Caribbean,” supported by the Government of Canada through Global Affairs Canada.
