10 BOSS Transformations Nobody Was Ready For

Isn't maliketh from elden ring just Ludwig but in a different game. You know from soft is really bad for reusing bosses even in the same game, you can fight almost every main story boss, in elden ring, 2 to 3 times. Don't get me wrong elden ring is a good game but they reuse bosses so many times that its just tiring.

Got to say that at this moment "Annihilation" from Remnant 2 can be added to this list. The boss transformation isnt super shocking but I will never forget the challenge phase 2 brought.

Im genuinely surprised Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance isn't on this list. You think the final boss is the giant mech he pilots: Metal Gear Excelsus. You beat the boss and Armstrong exits the mech and you think "alright this is it, the final cuscene, Raiden (the protagonist) is about to murder a senator for the second time in a cutscene" then he does some sort of anime power up and starts obliterating Riaden, who not that long ago threw a Metal Gear Ray (a slightly smaller, but still masive mech) like it was nothing. I wont spoil anything else, because it was bloody amazing. But i wanna know how he wasn't on the list, especially if Ludwig is on the list, because all he did was pick up a sword and become a harder fight.

The "twist" in Iconoclasts didn't really come out of no where, but the way it presented itself did. The whole time there were two groups of people: fanatics that were in charge and trying to regulate the use of "Ivory" (the macguffin of the game) because it "fed" the starworm that they worshiped, and the freedom fighters which were trying to deregulate it or stop it's use (I forget which). The pilot of the starworm revealed that the world's Ivory, which it used as fuel, was almost depleted completely. It definitely flipped the conflict on its head and put things in a larger perspective (the starworm is only using you for your fuel and isn't divine at all). The name of the game should tell you everything you need to know. An Iconoclast is someone who attacks established beliefs to expose the truth behind it. If it played it the way everyone in the game warned you it would (the starworm has to do the thing it does or disaster) then the title wouldn't make much sense.
It's a really fun game and deserves more attention.

So, do games like Scarlet nexus and Final fantasy from 12 onwards including the remakes count as RPGs when you control only 1 character and everyone else is controlled by the game?, isn't that taking agency from the player?, if that's so there are adventure platformers where you control only one character and are infinitely better than those, like the DMC/Ninja Gaiden Franchises.

Where's the Behemoth from Infamous 2? That's a crazy transformation.

With the No More Heroes II boss, it likely was meant to be a parody of the "final boss transformation" trope.

Maybe because Elden Ring was my first FromSoftware game, but Godrick the Grafted using a dragon head to replace his severed arm will always stick with me. I haven't finished the game yet, so maybe that's just the beginning.

Bruh, just finished Iconoclasts and that Birdman reveal is so beautifully stupid. Like all the tragedy and pain of that world is just dwarfed by the reveal that you're just living in a gas station and the big bad honestly doesn't care. It's unironically great.

Then there's Doc Birkin from RE 2, who turns into a mutant, to a bigger mutant, to an EVEN BIGGER mutant with 4 arms, then a dog with sword-like teeth and finally, into the contents of a SPAM can

It's not a boss fight technically but nero's devil trigger transformation when we were fighting vergil was quite funny and unexpected bcoz of the "F@$k you" which he said

The biggest transformation in that Ludwig fight was the music! 🤘

i really think father gascoigne also from bloodborne shouldve been on here. at first you think oh ok its just this old guy hes a little fast and does some damage but whatever. but then throughout the fight he becomes more bestial until eventually screaming and turning into a giant werewolf. i was over my friends watching it for the first time and we both were like WTF when that transformation happened
