Good Guide but should explain to people that everyone's hd4000 is different. The 0x01660004 you recommended made quad video on my monitor and didn't work properly. So I did some google searching and found out my 8470p needed the 0x01660003. Either way you were very helpful and I appreciate it. Just had to reinstall Catalina OSX after idiot Apple removed NTFS features in their latest update. Do not update to 002 security. Block that update and remove the red badge from you settings if that annoys you. Apple thinks it's so cute to sabotage a popular format such as NTFS which is what most people use for their USB sticks and portable hard-drives.

what if I have Intel HD 3000 ?

Hi! Thanks for the tutorial. I have followed the steps, and now my OS detects the internal graphics (which are the same Intel HD 4000) however it still is using only 5 mb of memory. Is there any solution for this problem? I have tried everything and nothing fixes it.

Btw, I'm runing macOs Sierra version 10.12.3 on an Intel i7 3770, 8 gb ram, 256 ssd and internal graphics.

Didn’t work. I’m on Intel HD Graphics 4000 and it says 4 MB after it. Still after doing this “fix”. This is an acer laptop with a i5 3rd gen I believe. Running MacOS Mojave 10.14.1. 6gb of ddr3 ram.
