This is clairaudience. I am periodically blessed with clairolfactance (clear smelling). Smelling something sharp and clear requires some time for the actual intent to come to mind. All this reminds me of the far eastern idea of non-dualism. Non-dualism simply states that there is no other, not even one. This is what the Essene cult would have taught in modern times.

Father Jim Blount. In 2003 I heard an interior voice tell me to go to my neighbor’s house. It was so strong. My little adopted son was one years old and had had a bad flu the week before. I was divorced and had recently been confirmed Catholic. I was alone and it was late at night, and an unusually cold night. I was so afraid to take Seth out in the cold and afraid to leave him alone so I ignored the voice. I thought I might be imagining it. The next day I learned my very good friends had been in Phoenix a hundred mikes from where we live, and had arrived home that morning to find their only son had hanged himself in their garage. Had I obeyed that voice I could have saved his life. Six months later my good friend hung herself in that same garage. They had been a strong Catholic family and the father became a person I no longer recognized. Because of me that family was destroyed. I am to this day haunted by my disobedience.
