I bought the mini pochette as a me to me bday gift in 2021 and when I looked up the price a month or so ago my eyes watered. It’s 100% not worth the current price, but it will never again be the the price I paid direct from LV and that’s just an absolute madness.

I bought an Hermes scarf to frame and hung it up in my living room. The artwork is absolutely beautiful to me and I feel like I can appreciate it every single day! But you bring up some great points in this video!

I definitely agree. I love vintage bag shopping. I’m doing a no buy on high designer brands because of the outrageous prices. I’m sticking 2 contemporary brands and my high end will be select vintage ones. I done a lot of shopping when we were home during the pandemic so I will do a no buy 4 a while & use some of the things that I purchased. Great video! 🥰

It sounds like you feel the way about shopping for clothes has more to do with the clothing choices available and that possibly your style is changing. I understand that our bodies do change and mature but for now the clothes are the problem. Everything is cropped or has cutouts—where are we wearing that?

I’m honestly done buying most things. I’m tired of spending money. Especially my own 😂 But I feel like I’m at a point where I don’t NEED anything else in my closet whether it be accessories or clothing. Just purchasing random things from Amazon should scratch my purchasing itch for now. Lol. Your earrings are so cool 😍

Wonderful to see you Katherine. I love vintage bags made of genuine skins and leather. I did not like the 90s fashion while living through that decade and think of all the decade fashions to replicate the 90s are the worst. Oversized clothing, ugly shoes. I am small and slim. I want to wear clothing, not swim in it. The Chanel price increases have spilled onto Chanel Vintage as well. I will not pay their prices. I too have enough bags and SLGs. You know your own style which is perfect for you. You do not look heavier at all and you are still beautiful.

No buy for fragrance and low buy for handbags and I let go one 1⃣ if I buy another. Great video.

I’m trying the no-buy, but Coach and the Coach outlet keeps dropping all these beautiful bags. I’m really obsessed with their bags, bag charms, and wristlets, but I plan to stop buying by the end of the year. Maybe by 2024 of February .

I am doing a low buy year for 2023 and it has been tough so far. There are a lot of temptations but I am trying my best not to buy any lux items. There are some good deals in the preloved market right now so it is hard. You made some valid points.

Omg u hit everything thing I have said to myself for this year. I need absolutely NOTHING!!! I don’t even use what I have . I go to work and home . Am I a detox period . I paid all my credit cards and that hurt because I had to go into my savings and that hurt a lot !!! I making myself stop 🛑. NO MORE !!!

I love this video. I’m in the same headspace right now. I don’t have a huge bag collection, but I don’t find myself using what I have. Also, the SLG’s are out of control and I find myself saying “You can’t use it all at one time”. I’ve recently sold a few pieces and now I will concentrate on using what I have.

Designer prices are ridiculous. I use to be able to buy nice new bags under 2000 dollars that is not the same now

Try New Designers instead of All the Money Hungry Brands that keep raising their prices.

I'm on a low buy for 2023 as well. I have a lot stuff already in my collection and closet and don't need anymore things. I have enough clothes, shoes, bags, etc. And I plan to shop in my closet. I haven't bought much of anything so far this year except for 1 Chanel classic flap card holder that I've told my SA I wanted since November 2021 and she finally got one in for me in February 2023. So I had to buy it. Lol. My goal this year is only buy things I truly want from my wishlist that I have been wanting forever (started my luxury collection 2018) and only buy 1 or 2 bags this year. So I have to choose carefully and not impulse buy. Need to keep my eye on the prize. I'm planning to either get the Chanel Trendy CC small in black lambskin and gold hardware or Dior Caro medium in black with gold hardware this year. We shall see.

Interesting video. I currently try and get bags/items I had on my wish/dream list for over years now and never pulled the trigger, and obviously going the second hand market route. I 100% disregard trends and riz to myself a mental budget per peace and I take my time. Completely off topic: love your earrings. Where did you get them?

I plan to go on a low buy the rest of the year. I spent the last two quarters buying bags I’ve been wanting for YEARS, but didn’t buy due to lack of popularity. I finally accepted that I don’t like what the masses deem the best classic styles from brands. Each have been preloved, but finally got a Givenchy Antigona, LV City Steamer, and Gucci Horsebit shoulder. . With each I’ve wondered why I waited soooo long to get them. I just pulled the plug on the Fendi mini Mon Tresor. Thankfully, I got decent deals on Fashionphile for them. I plan to be intentional about enjoying what I have at this point.

I think that the weight thing and lifestyle shift is all perfectly normal….as we age a shift in priorities….focus on life choices….goals…what we want next from life…..so purge….reassess….and move along to the next stage of your very blessed life…😊

I am 100% on a NO BUY YEAR (handbags, shoes, sunnies, accessories etc). The only exception is if I was to replace sometime like a skincare that has ran out.

I'm on a no buy as well!!! I'm finally getting my priorities together. This year I want to focus on studying/passing my CPA exams. Now I look at handbags like - Nope! That's exam money😭 I'm doing the same with traveling a little, trying to cut back on just focusing on traveling all the time. I love this video! Thank you for sharing😊

I’m with you on a lot of this. Prices are insane and im also tired of seeing the same things on everyone. It’s strange how Hermes is the IT designer. Everyone and their dog has a Birkin or Kelly and those prices are out of this world. I’m just not about it

No more bags for me until my 56th birthday in July I spent 6 k on bags just last month.

I am 200% with you ... been going hog wild with snatching up deals for preloved bags I've been wanting. The latest was a Fendi Peekaboo in the neutral color I wanted and the size I wanted (regular - I own the small and large already). It was in pristine condition and I could not leave it behind. I'm definitely cooling purchases down. Too much money going out the door, haha!

I LOVE this video! But as a shoe addict I’ve got to say designer shoes made with real materials do make a difference. That’s not to say that every designer shoe is worth it because that’s a broad and not accurate statement but I resole my shoes before I wear them and leather shoes mold to your foot and can be repair/recolored. Granted you might not get all of your money back when you resell them, I’ve resold many many designer shoes (even items previously worn) and I’ve either made my money back or taken a small (less than $100) loss. So I think there is value there. I’ve also owned and sold Steve Madden shoes and it’s just not comparable, even to repair them becomes a 1:1 spend. Otherwise I think I agree with all of your other points! And being more thoughtful with our purchases is an important mindset for our money and the environment.

The way you describe color is how I feel about neutrals. I feel like I’m not myself whenever I’m wearing too many neutrals. I’ve realized I just like to stand out; at 5’10”, I already do so why not embrace it? I say wear what you love!
