And it won't affect British Columbia? You lost me by limiting your initial comments to the "United States".

I was born in Seattle and lived there most of my life. We were all more or less aware of the possibility but it got cemented into our brains after the New Yorker article* got all that buzz. Now I'm in Southeastern Washington so I'm just going to have to wait for the asteroid if the nuclear waste doesn't get me first.

If that happens, then half of the liberals in Mexifornia won't be a problem anymore, so what happens will happen!

Get it all done at once. Cascadia rips open end to end & San Andreas does too. What the hell ? Why not ? I just hope I'm still alive when it happens !

Living in Tillamook, Or. I am obviously paying close attention to all info on this event....but am totally confused...was told by a preparedness professional that our town will sink approx 10 ft. Okay..but now I see Juan De Fuca plate will slide under us..why won't we rise? Probably a moot point as we will likely all die, but I am the victim of intense curiosity about everything.

you say they have not prepared for the earthquake that could happen at any moment. You are wrong, they have been prepared for that for decades. New strict building codes went into Effect decades ago..
California/the West Coast of the United States, has little mini earthquakes pretty much daily. That is a good thing, because the stress of the planets plates moving releases pressure gradually, drip at a time rather than no mini earthquakes, and then all of that pressure being released at one time.. building codes in California especially are so strict, that is almost impossible to build in many parts of California due to the requirements with earthquake probability factored in, and many other factors, like environmental impact, impact on wildlife, water, air quality, renewable, The list goes on and on. It could take as long as 10 years to build a house in some parts of California, because of all the hoops and red tape, and earthquake considerations… California is prepared. I wish I knew what you were talking about, and I wish you did.

Warning, the East Coast will not be affected by this.
The volcanos we don't talk about will not be triggered by this event.
This will in no way affect the entire continent of the United States.
This will not have an effect on the Appalachian mountains or the opposite side of the Appalachians.
This massive release of pressure will not change our Elevation.
It will not have other surprises with it .
After that event , America will head West into the Pacific.. nope, here we come Europe , nope we heading south at that point. This release in pressure will allow the
Continent to move until it meets another plate or another obstacle. Inevitably the entire continent could split right down the Mississippi River.
This will inevitably pull the Great lakes into Niagara and Hudson.
Build back better.
Right now we know that the east coast is sinking and we know that the west coast is rising. So with that pressure release..idk
The shockwave could go all the way to the Appalachian mountains.

If that quake happens, California will be shoved up into Oregon, Oregon & Washington will be up in Canada.
Because of the subduction plates along the West Coast, California is being pushed upwards. Because the San Andreas Fault is a Slip Slide Fault, it will all go at once. California will be pushed up & shoved North.

I live in Northern California and we are more than prepared for this. My school did earthquake drills, and we have water, blankets, food etc, in our car at all times. The payoff is that we have fertile soil and beautiful mountains. It beats the flatness of the Midwest that has no earthquakes any day!

I have experienced Whittier Quake and the Northridge quake from the Glendale Highlands. Both were very scary. I was on top if a small earthquake in Santa Barbara, and it was overwhelming. I could not stay standing. So being near the epicenter makes it an entirely different experience.

so when we do have a earthquake, we will know they set it off, because of the fire in Maui, they set that off, and what's going on with our weather their setting that off. So, because a lot is now going wrong , people are looking into the past of history of this world. they who ever they are wants to destroy this society, It seem like every so many years, generations disappears.

Americans your home or commercial facilities insurance will not prevent someone from dying by earthquake. Insurance is useless once you're dead. Better make your home, commercial facilities, infrastructures earthquake proof like in Japan than regret at the end
