Crossing open field was my worse part.of the patrol.

Well that was a fuck up from the start. No cover, walking up a road with potential IED’s and with a sargent that had no clue.

Whats scary is why we werent using drones then to be able to atleast find the enemy and call in a hellfire from a repaer drone. The usage if drones would have saved so many lives in the war. $500 dollar drones judt to spot or explode a 15 troop enemy is worth it everytime

Taliban is good at ambushes, and this only because we telegraphed them before they count

A hovering drone with realtime thermal cameras feed to the platoon can greatly help patrols in these situations.

Hats off to our brave young boys out there! But we need to prepare them better with intel, training & hardware; we often time see infantry combats that ambushed units reacted poorly on target acquisition and accuracy. And most important of all, why they are put into that kinda situation at the first place?
