A common engine like the 4.0 Jeep engine can be found for cheap. I did that for my CJ-7 engine swap. I definitely agree when it comes to common engines to be found. Now, my other toy is a '72 240Z and that's a totally different story with a rare car and rare engines.

In your country only for new replacement of engine. Many country they do rebuild the engine. What's make it deferent it is just only mathematics.

Hi Scotty, Like watching the channel, lots of interesting stuff, I blew the head gasket on my 2003 f150, 4.2 V6 engine, the motor has 315,000 trouble free miles on it, I am the original owner, my question is that I am having a lot of trouble finding a reputable engine re-manufacturer, I read lots of reviews and really none of them are convincing, I live in Florida and I'm worried about getting screwed by any of these companies......any suggestions ?

On your turbocharger vs engine diagnosis, wouldn't it be a better idea to pop the turbo away from the manifold and check for signs of oil residue there to differentiate between failed turbo and engine burning oil? The hot side intercooler hose could have oil residue both from a failed turbocharger seal as well as excessive blow-by, which could leave you with inconclusive results.

re build your engine unless its still under warrenty were you won't spend a penney. Better to just replace the whole engine instead of re build incase it still fails.

I'm going to rebuild my engine myself, not get it done, because it will be done properly and is much cheaper. DIY not for everyone I know, but has its place.

It depends on what you are doing. Factory rebuild yes. Custom engine no. But I build a lot of performance engines and am very picky about machine work.

Hey scotty. I have a 2010 toyota sequoia with 180k mileages. The first owner went to a mechanic to get the radiator checked out, and the mechanic finished the work and he forgot to cover the fluid cap and It went all over the engine. Soo the owner took it to toyota dealer and had the motor changed to a factory sequoia motor that had 110,000 mileages. He gave me the paper work of proof. And it was swapped out by toyota dealer. The truck drives beautifully, and if he hadn't been soo honest, I wouldn't have noticed anything. Do I have any thing to worry about?
