Cousin Eddie is clearly a fan of Quiet Riot.

ОтветитьHow can a bit holder change the time it takes to screw something if it's not slipping in the holder?
ОтветитьI would love to see a list of the various types of bits there are (I know, there's a lot) and a comparison of what bit holders hold what. For instance, the Wiha CentroFix will supposedly hold their own "standard" Ultra Driver / technician double-ended bits, but many others won't. Then you have the longer double-headed bosch style "power" bits with the detent very close to the tip of the bits, etc. Don't even get me started on leatherman flat bits. I know this deviates from the impact/power usage you were monitoring here, but I'd still like to know for my own selfish reasons. 😉
ОтветитьI was in the store looking for these today and pulled up this video to find the best one. I love your videos but are a bit awkward to watch in the store. You should make some tldr videos or a website that pretty much just show the rankings and charts. Would be an amazing resource
ОтветитьDewalt always make me laugh
ОтветитьI don’t care about price of things, I just go for the option that isn’t made in Asia. I’ll pay extra for it to be made in US, Canada or Europe. Even all my work clothes is made in USA. A pair of jeans may cost $150 but will last 4-5 years or more compared to 6 months doing construction. You get what you pay for
ОтветитьI found one of those wera bit holders on a job about 10 years ago and it looked well used back then, i but it on an impact driver because of the locking mech and I still have it today, it is kept with and used strictly on 100/150mm frame fixings and I used it a few times a week. If it ever dies I will be buying another.
ОтветитьA reference run for the first test without a bit holder would of been a nice touch to see just how much these impact performance
ОтветитьI don’t understand how a bit holders can very in speed. It seems the driver would determine the speed also I don’t understand what would make holders very in temperature.
Thanks
Randy
There was something weird going on with the magnetic pull tests and I think I figured it out. I'm assuming that you used the same exact bit across all of the magnetic pull tests. The Crescent Vortex required the most force to remove the bit from the holder, but it had no force with which to hold onto a screw. This doesn't make sense unless... The poles on the magnets inside of the bit holder can be flipped back and forth during manufacturing. There is no consistent pole orientation. The bit also takes on a pole orientation when it touches a magnet. If the bit's North pole is inserted into the holder so that it touches the holder's magnettic North pole, then everything is fine. If you have opposing poles try to come into contact with one another, then this will alter the tip's ability to hold onto a screw. To avoid this, you would have to use an unmagnetized bit for each test. You can also degauss the bit between tests.
ОтветитьGreat video! For me it's good to have many options. I end up dealing with lots of odd screws that are partially stripped so many times having that sleeve allows me to push as hard as possible to get the screw back in. Other times i need magnetism to hold on while i reach. I wish there was a strongly magnetized bit holder that also had a sleeve!
ОтветитьI'm extremely thankful that there is a Project Farm video for pretty much every tool I plan to buy
ОтветитьA good thing to note for the bosch bit holder as I've had mine for a while now, when you screw something in and the bit gets "stuck" in the screw, if its really tight, pulling the bit will sometimes make it pull out just a tiny bit. It makes it impossible to open the locling mechanism, or pull the bit out, without hammering the bit back in.
ОтветитьMFW i have that first dewalt holder... but never use it in an impact
ОтветитьI'm curious about the locking extensions when used to extend a spade drill bit. The two problems I experience the most are the drill bit getting stuck in the extension or worse the locking mechanism just completely falls apart within the first use.
ОтветитьOne thing I will mention is the locking dewalt and locking Bosch holders will lock up on 3/8” bits when doing heavy torque applications such as SDS screws. I loved the locking dewalt bits until I had 3 of them break in one day when I was installing SDS screws all day long. The spring loaded assembly just starts falling apart. So far I’ve really liked the norske and Milwaukee locking but holders but time will tell if they have the same problems or not.
ОтветитьAnother outstanding video, you should teach shop class to kids at a local high school. Your knowledge and examples would serve them well in the future... I'm off to buy the DeWalt thanks to your video review. Thank you!!
ОтветитьC'mon Tomato Palace! Papa needs a new pair of shoes!!!
ОтветитьHello
Does any one know how to get a 1/4 bit holder from the shaft of, I need one for a modification to a other shaft with a end of 5/16" to put it instead on it. 🤔
How difficult would it be to do the first test with an infrared camera to really show the weak/slip points?
ОтветитьHow can he sell when Mohs Rais is not the owner? Agreement will be null and void
ОтветитьQual foi a Melhor?
ОтветитьCousin Eddy was tripping! :D
ОтветитьI have a steadfast rule on these: O use the bit holder that came with my set exclusively 😅
ОтветитьPlease do router bits!
Ответить1/4 and 3/8 bix drive bit holder next :D
ОтветитьMalco bit holder
ОтветитьI just cannot stand your manner of speaking.
ОтветитьThanks for your endless clever methods of testing products. I enjoy the variety of products tested and the easy to understand results. I have used your results to decide which product is worth the price for my needs because it's that good.
I have a bet with a friend about ONE thing! He thinks your voice might be sped up for time purposes. I listened to many of your podcasts and using your method tried .75 and 1.25 speed changes! I concluded, it's your natural voice. Let me know who wins the bet please. We both think you would make a great sports announcer so that's a big positive.
Keep safe be well and have a great day. art

ОтветитьDewalt = Tomato Palace 😂
ОтветитьI would have loved to see the wiha centrofix bit holder varient tested as well, I have a screwdriver with the centrofix holder and it is ROCK solid I mean it almost feels like a solid shaft screwdriver, next to zero play and I think it is much better designed than the wiha clickfix. Awesome video as always though!
ОтветитьNice to see Ryobi busting some of those big brands. Chris "Tool Deal" you always say don't buy Ryobi bits. 😂😂. Will this video change your mind? 😂😂
Ответитьi will lose the threads much before that on about 20 nm.
ОтветитьRyobi seem to be up there with market leaders these days. They've come a long way from being purely hobby grade toys.
ОтветитьThe wera rapid adaptor is not impact rated so this will lead to failure.. The impaktor line is what would be needed
ОтветитьThis channel has become invaluable.
Every time ima buy a tool or blade or whatever…. There’s an in depth video.
So many channels that are thinly veiled ads.
Thanks
Buy bit sockets and 1/4 and 3/8 drive adapters, instead of naked bits that require a holder and don't worry about this problem.
ОтветитьShould have measured insert bit slop with the notched impact screw bits. So many of the bit holders have backwards slop that causes the screw to fall out. Incredibly upsetting.
ОтветитьAnother outstanding presentation
ОтветитьI liked this comparison review quite a "bit"..... Thanks Todd!
ОтветитьI like the really thin bit holders so I can get into tight spaces. Using my 14.4v Bosch impactor way back when, I snapped all the aluminum sheathed bit holders in seconds flat. The deep sliding type were even worse. I ended up buying a Milwaukee set of bits and using the bit holder for short bits. I also bought Milwaukee 3" philips and 4" torx bits, which got a whole lot of decks built for me. TIP: With no bit holder, bits last longer in an impactor. Since all the impactors I've bought run between 1,450 and 1,600 in/lbs, I truly dislike all the "torsion" and "torque" gizmos with the slender shafts, which you just showed breaking at far less torque. Another great tool test, Todd. Just one question, though: Did Cousin Eddie file a lawsuit on you for nearly worrying him to death? His head was really boppin' out there for awhile. LOL
ОтветитьThis man provides such an incredible service for us all. Thank you for another banger video Mr. Farm
Ответить🍅 palace baby 😂😅
ОтветитьWhat alot of people dont realize is is that a drill will drive screws faster than a impact will so if your ever using wood or deck screws use your drill and then you dont have to worry about the impact damaging the bit holder and make them last longer
ОтветитьI have that same DeWalt bit driver. I don’t think it’s impact rated unless it just looks the same as mine lol
Ответить
