I am done fighting with this product/website. It refuses to accept my passport and keeps asking to retake the photo. When I did it using my desktop camera, the least preferred method, it did finally take the photo I think as there was zero feedback. Then it asked for a selfie which after multiple attempts I have finally said forget it. Also within the U.S. and the country I want to send money to the Wise Debit Card is not available. So what is the point. Why can you not just scan and send them by email a copy of your document and selfie?? Duh here Wise!!
ОтветитьI am very hesitant in using Plaid by putting my user name and password of my bank into their verification system for Wise: you hear all the time about security breaches to so called secure organizations.
ОтветитьWhy is really good if you’re living somewhere and you have a bank account open so you can convert on your terms. just traveling you just use a credit card at merchants with no foreign transaction fees and if you need cash just go to an ATM
ОтветитьI'm thinking of being an expat when I retire. Won't I need a foreign bank account to pay my rent, and other bills?
ОтветитьCharles Scwab waives atm fees internationally
ОтветитьDoes it work in Russia?
ОтветитьDropped Wise - too slow; went with Remitly - transfers arrive in seconds.
ОтветитьBeen watching your awesome videos and learning a lot, thanks. I want to know how to contact wise customer service for questions especially about amounts and using as a debit card like hotel bookings, etc... Any more help and advice is appreciated
ОтветитьWhat is the domicile of Wise? Does this account avoid IRS / U.S. Tax issues? I don't think so.
ОтветитьHow about Argentina?
ОтветитьHi @TravelingwithKristin, I've had my Wise account for about a month. It has worked well for transferring funds internationally and then to my regular bank account. However, in the Wise app, when selecting "Card" to request a Wise debit card, the message returned is "Our cards are temporarily unavailable in the USA right now". Do you know any additional details about the card option in the US being on hold or when Wise cards might be available in the US? Thanks!
ОтветитьIf you have a no fees for international purchases credit card isn't it the same?
ОтветитьVery Disappointed with wise over kill on security and not travel friendly as you think ,There's a percentage of people who travel long term on a Budget and Can't afford to keep a permanent residential address for there mail and don't wanna burden family and friends with there mail and choose a Travling mail Box Company that is approved by thr US Postal Service to manage there Mail and Wise Canceled my account when they found out I'm using this Service and Really caused a problem for my money transfer and transactions Ridiculous If it Approved by the US postal Service idont see what the problem is any insight our help would be appreciated
ОтветитьDebit card-Atm. Wires for large purchases. Done
ОтветитьI use Wise to send money to a friend and also an ATM card when I am in that country. Wise can also fund "virtual cash" services (which you can use to pay local bills like internet/cell service and Uber-like taxis) in that country where you don't have to formally open a bank account to fund, and as you see in the video, you cannot always open a formal bank account". Works great! When an ATM machine did not dispense cash but charged my account, I disputed it with the normal procedures. They followed through and the charge was reversed. If you are often in a foreign country, you can keep a balance in that currency. So you can time your conversions to when your home currency has a period of being stronger.
ОтветитьI applied for the wise card and presently they are not sending out cards in the US. Revolut is another one to use
ОтветитьI love WISE, but if possible, I prefer to use CC's with no foreign transaction fees, because I get 3x miles for travel expenses, and I travel exclusively on miles. I was amazed, that even on some remote island in Indonesia, no problem using a CC, and I still have lots left on my WISE debit card, which is just so practical. Used it in Japan, Indonesia, Germany and the US this summer, never a problem. Only once there was a hiccup, sending funds from the US to Germany, and it took 6 days. Usually it's same day.
ОтветитьHave you used World Remit? What do you think of it?
ОтветитьI fully recommend Wise, good rates and 100% reliable in my case!
ОтветитьWhat if you just want to hold $$ in foreign currencies? Also, you can't currently get a Wise card if you live in the US.
ОтветитьI'm sure Wise is a useful tool but this comes across as an infomercial rather than an honest review
ОтветитьShould be labeled a commercial
ОтветитьJust use crypto, such as usdt
ОтветитьAre there conversion fees? Also, if you need hard currency in the Country you are in, you still have to pay their fees/rates. Get a Charles Schwab Checking account
ОтветитьThis video is a commercial.
ОтветитьI tried to order a Wise Debit card but it says they have temporarily paused issuing cards to US addresses.
ОтветитьI've heard good things about Wise, I do have some concerns with the two factor authentication, when I'm away I get a sim card with the new provider, so I can't receive SMS texts, then what? is there another way?
ОтветитьI use my Charles Schwab account plus they pay all my ATM fees
ОтветитьI like what I see 👀 ❤
ОтветитьCould you comment on the fact that your money is NOT insured.
ОтветитьKristin or other readers: I would like to bank overseas, not for small transfers but rather to keep some of my doller assets in non-dollar form. Do you have any recommendations for me ?
ОтветитьOr open HSBC account in your homeland, then from there you can open a foreign hsbc account. So easy to transfer from one to the other Only exchange rates to deal with no transaction fees. Duh
ОтветитьJust a disclaimer, this is a paid infomercial and not necessarily an independent review of a service. There are a ton of options out there besides wise.
ОтветитьDo bad you can't get a card in the U.S so worthless to me
ОтветитьWise has KYC requirement, do you have a US residence and utility bills in your name for KYC? This is really throwing a monkey wrench in the works. I'm planning on moving overseas from US, and want to be able to continue using my US brokerages for trading and investing, and banks, and crypto exchanges, they all want US residence KYC documentation. I dont have friends or family in my no state tax state of Texas I could use their address. So, this is a problem, how do people deal with this if they don't want to buy a house or condo just for KYC? What a mess.
Ответитьis there any charge if the bank suspended the acct due to using the acct to other countries
ОтветитьI took your advice and opened up an account and transferred some money and just found out I can't get a physical or digital card for who knows how long (living is the US) and would have to transfer the money back to a regular debit card so this is all been a waste of time. This is a scam!! There should be a living in the US disclaimer.
ОтветитьDoes the other person you sending money have to have WISE App?
ОтветитьMuch better options. Promotional video. Be mindful.
ОтветитьCould I setup automatic payments for my rent, utilities in a foreign country like Brazil with Wise? Can it use ACH transfers? Dome creditors want an ACH number, nit a card number. Thank you for your content!
ОтветитьNeed more research before I get scammed again.
ОтветитьThis thumbnail are addictive lol, end up watching the whole thing. Lol😂
ОтветитьUnfortunatly Wise no longer offers digital or physical cards for US Citizens. Its a bummer because
I love Wise.
Hi! I will be moving to Brazil, doing research on online banks. Thank you!
ОтветитьWestern union works more seemlessly in my experience
ОтветитьWise cards are not offered in the United States. I joined the waiting list. Your info is incorrect.
