Thank you for sharign with us your knowledge. Indeed, learning english is a journey, I'm in that for so 2 years and I feel that have so much to learn. And the worts thing as you learn more is that it's dificult to see your progress, feels like you are at the same level for a long.

I am currently advancing towards the C1 proficiency level in English and I am seeking a conversation partner for joint practice. Ideally, you should possess at least a B2 certificate or a certificate on a higher level. When interested pls comment below.

In best regards Sebastian

I've got my C1 papers 10 years ago back in highschool, back then my speaking skills were quite abysmal, everything else was alright. I'd love to get the C2 certification for nothing else but self fulfillment, but after so much time being removed from the formal English education I'm affraid my grammar won't be up to snap. I were thinking about just going to the US for couple months, living there, talking with people, then buy some prep book, go through it, and then I could possibly pass the C2 exams, dunno... I've shifted over to learning Japanese as my hobby after I was happy with my English.

Dear Ben, what you mention at the very end of the video (the loss of motivation because the learning curve is tapering off) is exactly what is happening to me right now, and I am slightly panicking about it, given that my exam date is getting close. Sometimes you just need to be reminded that progress is still going on even if you are experiencing "bad days" where it feels like you are not learning much. I find it funny because I am usually the one who gives others this kind of advice, to trust the process. Thank you for making these extremely helpful and reassuring videos for students who, like myself, are at a loss and just need a little push.

Hello from Belo Horizonte! As you were explaing, I was thinking of myself learning. Beleving it or not, I tend to be shy and I feel more confortable observing, taking notes and than, I research about it. And I had a good discovery that I could consider myself patient, because I can not imerse in learning and forget life itself, you know?! 😊😊😊

I suggest adding R to your acronym. R stands for Repetition, you don't learn anything by doing it once, you must use it frequently for it to stick. PRIP ftw!

Hello Ben ! I’m French and I’ve been studying English by myself with the same kind of videos as you do and other materials like podcasts, grammar books and so on. I must say that your channel is very agreeable to follow and informative with lots of stuffs to grab and learn. Above all, thanks for your perfect accent and pronunciation, as an English learner, it’s just delightful to listen to the English sound by a native speaker 👌. Keep on doing the same good job 👏 ! Cheers

I constantly read things (specially in games) and everytime I see a new word I ask someone whose first language is English... Yesterday for example at 11p.m I found a new word abide and then I asked a friend for the meaning, and a new word in my vocabulary

Ben, you are completely right about the last P:Patience. It takes a lot of time to learn another language when you are an adult. I never thought it would be so long but some time ago I discovered that it takes a lot of time and dedication to be fluent in the language you have chosen to study... But keep in mind the best part of the trip is the trip in itself.. Not the arrival🚩 Greetings from Spain

Good attitude! I always think about English words and puns! My recent thought is the netflix series "how to get away with murder", I had studied this expression last year when I was preparing b2 exam and it got in my mind not so easily, then eventually I've found out that in Italy it's translated as "the rules of the perfect murder" and it doesn't have the same meaning. I try to learn and to remember English phrasal verbs and original expressions and it is a time consuming process, thank you Ben for sharing these videos

Hello Ben. Thanks for the video. PIP makes sense to me. I would definitely add "curious". But I admit that in a way we could say that it is already integrated in "inquisitive". When you are curious or even passionate about a topic, it will help you go further and maybe will even make you go the extra mile.
Cheers Daniel

Thank you Ben for your priceless advice how to learn English successfully. I'm patient and proactive, but when it comes to inquisitiveness I definitely should ask more questions to my teachers. You are absolutely right! The good thing is I do like the process of learning. I know it's a marathon not a sprint. It's a kind of never ending story.
