I've never seen this kit in the wild. Perhaps, I can find it one day.

Did you ever weather with real rust. It takes a little time to get the right technique. But the affects are grat. Don't apply any clear over it or it will chang the color slightly. To make it. Put a stell scrubbing pad in a jar and fill it with vinegar. Let stand out side for a week or two. You will have real rust. It wil be some liquid and some small parts of rusted metal. I tried it and it looks grat.

Just thinking have you tried etch primer on the ally foil for the paint to hold?

Trying to find the right hue of Dunkelgrau or "German" Dark Grey is rather useless. The colour evolved from nearly black before the war to a much lighter colour until it was replaced by Dark Yellow in 1942.

hey i see this is another model where you don't apply varnish? I'm trying to stay away from varnish before weathering, just dont know if i should; im about to build my first Tamiya 35378 panzer iv kit. i plan on using tamiya enamel panel liner and abteilung oils.

I don't think I've ever seen a model with bird sh,, stains on it. Trust me it happened a lot, especially in coastal areas.

Loved this vid. You have a great can do attitude.
Would love to see you do a vid just on paints. What to use where and why, what types can and can't be mixed together, what thinners to use with each and any of your hacks 😉

Yeah the kits from 1996! Think Academy added link n length tracks I'm sure the cmk had rubber bands! Did the airfix kit have the antenna in the instructions whare it should be mounted etc? Academy's didn't but wasn't a big deal the barrel I changed and jack block for a dragon part periscopes I like to fit later but couldn't on this mine is pretty much all dragon parts haha looks great though

I have a Revell boxing of what I’m sure must be this same kit... half built, you’ve inspired me to get it finished ( I’m usually an aircraft modeller). Good video, I look forward to following you on 2021!

The CMK kit was re-boxed by Tamiya in 2012. The Academy kit was all new moldings, but was itself re-boxed by Airfix in 2019. It was issued separately, with appropriate parts added, as a Pz 38(t) command tank as well.

I've found that Testors liquid or Tamiya's orange-topped glues provide stronger, more flexible joints when assembling link & length tracks.

Just an unrelated question, how do you store/ display your completed models?

Ответить
@TheNordus
@TheNordus - 31.12.2020 14:15

Sorry, but this kit is definitely not the CMK kit reboxed. The sprue- and parts layout is different. The Academy kit has much finer detail than the CMK kit, not that the CMK kit is necessarily bad. Also in the earlier part of this series, you made it sound like the later Hungarian tanks were based on the 35(t) chassis, where they only copied the running gear but the vehicles were otherwise completely Hungarian designs. Looks like you did a good job on this build, good job.
